"This was previously an option that Discord was considering during talks of a sale, but one that seemed premature given that the company wasn't yet profitable"

What a coincidence!!!! A popular yet non-profitable company decides to turn down a $10 BILLION offer, but let's it be known that they might go public in the future. I wonder if people would be willing to invest in such an idea considering how things are going now......

@jenovaschilld:So we're about the same age. At that time, a Japanese Sega Saturn and imported Capcom games were my life outside of college. There was also the F.O.M.T. going on, "fear of me too". People I couldn't get to even look at the FF games on the SNES in H.S. were asking me if I had heard about this "new" game on Spring/Summer Break. It wasn't until my brother said he liked it that I gave it a chance years later. By then, the internet was picking up (remember when there was no way in HELL your home internet speeds could even touch the speeds at school?) and you could download the 5.36Mb TXT file and READ about walkthroughs of the game.

The book and movie thing started around the same time when I got all 3 Godfather's on VHS and figured I might as well try the book. Gave me a bit of insight on how directors and writers pick and choose from the source material to produce a film they think people will want to see and how some changes are just to bring in a different audience.

Was lucky to get one with a disc drive. Not buying a HDD until more exclusives come out.

@jenovaschilld: Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my OP. Totally agree that plenty of new FF gamers loved the remake, that's why I suggested they play it first, then go back. As the older gamer that wasn't into it at launch for various reasons, playing the original gives me more of an understanding of why certain people loved it and why the community was a bit divided when Remake details started coming out.

I'm also the type of guy to read the book before I go see the movie.

@Thuban_23:I respectfully have to disagree to a degree. If you weren't into FFVII when it came out, you're better off playing the old one first. If you're that old, then you'll be used to playing games from back then with outdated mechanics and be able to tolerate it a bit more. If you weren't even around back then, I say play the remake first.

But yeah, the game is good.

I'm throwing my wallet at the screen and nothing is happening... Do I need to refresh or just reload the whole page?

I've been waiting for this ever since they kept hyping the character after the reveal. Had there been more Cons this past year, we would have seen it sooner.

I thought the first one was ok. Was happy that it came out, enjoyed the extended edition more. Years later, the Snyder cut is announced and I get excited again. Then, the word comes out that not only is he only shooting 20 more minutes of footage to make it a 4 hour film, he's not using any of the stuff Whedon shot. In the middle of all of this, Ray Fisher starts dropping bombs about the first film. Finally, on March 18 at 0215, I sit down with 5 tacos and start to watch the Snyder Cut.

Today... I now have the opinion that Fisher wasn't lying when he said Whedon was TICKED OFF over the reception to the second Avengers film. I enjoy a lot of his work, but he pretty much repeated the same mistakes then made more. That "save one" speech from Batman? That's pretty much the same type of speech Hawkeye gave Wanda. The whole "only Bruce want's to use the box to bring back Superman" plot? That's Tony Stark and Ultron.

Snyder seemed to be banking on the fact that he was going to have 2 more films to fix his. Pretty sure 15 minutes could have been cut if every character didn't have to have at least 2 slow motion scenes as an entire song plays along. Martian Manhunter was a sick joke and a waste. World in peril and you don't show up until AFTER the fight? Oh wait, before that you had to get Lois back to work by pretending to be someone she was eventually going to have to talk to and have a very awkward conversation.

With all of this rambling being written... I LOVED THE HELL OUT OF THIS MOVIE!!!! Yeah, it was 4 hours, but I didn't feel like it dragged on needlessly(keyword there, I did mention the slo-mo's). DARKSEID! Cyborg, Flash, and Themyscira got their due. Steppenwolf got an upgrade. The town singing as Aquaman left blew me away. DARKSEID!. The scene where they show Clark selecting a new suit. The first battle with DARKSEID featuring a Green Lantern. Desaad and... did I mention DARKSEID!!! Not a the best comic based film by a long shot, but so much better than what we got the first time IMHO. If you hated the first one, this probably won't change your mind, and that's ok. But at least give it a watch, even if you watch it like my sister in law and pretty much just fast forward until you see explosions.

@jenovaschilld: I'm going to go with the drop out excuse. I think it was about 2-3 years ago when "niggling" was being used in a ton of game reviews.
