Call of Duty games have a pretty long life which is surprising consider how much each new game sells. You could probably get into matches pretty easily for the last several CoD games.

What's really terrifying is that I just looked it up on the steam site, and the player count for Black Ops 2 is higher than the one for Ghosts o.O

Hi all,

So every couple of months I get this Call of Duty itch. Just a desire to play for a few days, sometimes a week or two depending on how into it I get. But lately, I've been putting it off, knowing that Advanced Warefare is just around the corner.

But I do really want to play CoD, and I don't even know how active the player base on PS3 will be for Ghosts (my home platform for CoD games). Is there still an active player base on all platforms? If not, which are pretty dead?

I remember logging onto Black Ops 2 for PC shortly after Ghosts came out, and there were about 800 people playing in the middle of the day on a Saturday!

Any other really active console shooters (Other than Bad-field 4) I can look into if CoD is dead? For PC, I have more than enough options already!

I put about 70 hours in both the SP and MP before I felt I had my fill of each. Haven't played the game since. Kinda hoping we hear about that SP story DLC, but with all the focus they've put into the online and porting it to current systems, it's going to be a while. I'm almost hoping it's standalone content so I can just get it on the PS4, not that I mind going back to the PS3 to play it. But I'm getting off topic...

I'm worried that Heists will only be released on current-gen, and last gen players will be forced to upgrade if they want to play Heists.

As it is, I'll have to upgrade if I want a large group of players to enjoy with

I suppose that's a possibility, but they would piss a lot of people off in doing so. Millions of people that won't be upgrading. But I'm not really concerned with the heists.

They're a pretty great part of the SP, so I'd like to see how they turn out. They seem like they could add even more longevity to the online MP

Besides the single player, which I enjoy doing since I usually forget plenty of the missions after awhile, Multiplayer so far has been a mixture of goals set by myself to having fun with missions/activity to simply overall open city warfare and pranks such as using the cargobob to hook onto another players car and drop them off at the top of the tallest building.

When it comes out on PC however, Then I have around five friends to shoot, mess around or drive with in the game ontop of everything else.

Is the online full of hackers? I know that's what happened to GTAIV

Red Dead Redemption, Final Fantasy X and Mass Effect series have been some of my favorites in the last few years

What the heck are you doing? I ask because I genuinely enjoy the game, and would love ideas on how to prolong the experience past beating the campaign missions and story.

So what are you guys doing? Just driving around? Robbing people? Exploring...?

Thanks, really appreciate the feedback!

I do races, deatmatches, etc. It's fun. Trying to get better cars and apartments. Trolling people is especially fun

True story, I set a bounty on a guy, and went out to Sandy Shores Airstrip. A buzzard chopper spawned there, so I set a stick bomb on it. The guy I set a bounty on came after me, so I drove away from the buzzard down the runway. That guy got into the buzzard, started flying it, and then I set off the charges and blew him up in the air and claimed my own bounty. LOL

HA!

The PvP element of the multiplayer is sort of what intrigues me about it. I can drive around ruining things for NPCs in single player, but I can only troll people online. However, now I'm worried that the online community is 90% trolls already

Leveling up and grinding so my character transfers over to the PS4 version when I get that at some point.

There are levels in GTAV online?

Can you explain the draw of the game to me?

A while back my friend convinced me to buy the game, so I did and started a free membership, and started leveling and getting new ships and such. But the combat system was a little tough to understand, as were travel times to different systems, and really knowing what to do in a game.

It's a very different kind of MMO, but a lot of the elements appeal to me. I like the idea of a space-craft MMO that doesn't suck. I like the idea of progressing while not playing, though still having to invest time and mental process to really achieve anything, and I like the pacing of the gameplay.

Can someone link me to a really good beginners guide (written or video), and maybe tell me what kinds of things you do? For me, MMOs have always been "log on, kill things, get xp, log off", whereas this seems a little less linear.

I think I could really enjoy this game if I could just get a better handle on it!
