Looking for an open world game that has realistic/lethal combat. In other words a person dies after getting hit by a bullet or 2 (depending on placement), or a few slashes of a sword/weapon. (preferably something other than just you standard multiplayer FPS).

I've always wanted a game that emphasizes tactics and a slower pace to land a strike/shot, instead too many games let me get shot 50 times, whacked 100 times.

I just want a realistic combat system whether it's modern day/fantasy setting etc. Thanks in advance.

I've always been a big fan of large scale battles regardless of the historical period, combined with first or TP combat. That being said when "Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War" came out I very much enjoyed it. (http://www.gamespot.com/rise-and-fall-civilizations-at-war/)

To summarize it's system you basically controlled a very powerful hero and led troops into battle. You controlled your troops actions in terms of simple movement/points of interest but you fought along side them as a single person in real time.

So that being said whether its a mod or a game I missed and never played I would really love to recreate the same feeling and experience of leading my troops into battle and specifically fighting along side them as one soldier or hero. (controlling his actions). Also I've tried the Dynasty Warrior series and found it very shallow due to its random button mashing and Mount Blade didn't hold my interest very long due to its lack of direction in the single player campaign imo.

Hell if a Total War game mod would let me randomly turn in to and fight as a single soldier I'd be in heaven but I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist.

Thanks in advance.

how does this actualy change anything? No one I know is going to game any differently. All my friends with pc's enjoy them and are going to keep gaming on them. My friends with consoles feel the same. This is very niche imo...

Considering that GTA V Online is capped at 16 players due to current gen techs, there's no reason to not wait (or double buy) when PC/next gen systems come out. The Player caps will definitly increase. IMO 16players in that GTA V world is not nearly enough...

having put a signigicant amount of time into SC:BL I can safely say that the VO ruins the game to the degree that if this was a the start of a new IP, I'd hope that they'd sign a different guy for a sequel.

He's so increadably lifeless and dull, not to mention generic. Add to the fact that same is de-aging like benjamin button, it's just awkward and unfortunate...

the game was a piece of garbage anyway. One of the most boring single player experiences in a long time. Hell that made an mmo with boring mmo quests and then they took out all the people and said "play this alone".

Utter garbage...

Except that exactly why PS2 sucks and what PS2 is, a mindless action shooter...

Planetside 2 is garbage. It's a dumbed down hack job of PS1 and it's increadably boring. Everything that made classes unique and deep in PS1 was removed. Now it's simply an online FPS... Welcome to generation "mass appeal".
