Hello,

I have spent the past few days looking up parts for my first build and I came up with this:

EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) x 2

Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz Quad-Core Processor

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA

EVGA P55 SLI 132-LF-E655-KR LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

G.Skill RipJaw Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3

APEX Case

Hanns-G 20" HDMI Widescreen LCD monitor
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254049because GS linking sucks)

Total: ~$1500

>Could anyone give me some input about these parts and any comments/recommendations for it or if I forgot something

and I was wondering if I have to send in the hard drive.

It got the YLoD and I was unable to back up my latest games, so I was planning on just taking out the HDD and sending them the PS3.

Do they need the PS3 and if so, is it possible to backup my data if I put my HDD in another PS3?

wow that seems like an awesome computer, but when I researched the motherboard I heard that it has problems with the bios, has a tendency to be dead on arrival, has this happened to anyone? Other than that thanks, seems like a great computer for that price

Alright, I was thinking of spending $800 - $1000 for a desktop before I go to college for gaming (and experience) and this would be the first computer I have built.

I'm looking for some recommendations on what parts to get for the desktop.

Can anyone help?

Depends on your skill level But none the less, you might learn how to play it, but you'll make mistakes when you play, it'll take more than 5 days to master it...well unless you practice 24/7

That might be why...typically you shouldn't be shutting off your PS3 using the power switch on the back of the console even if you're not going to play for the rest of the day. It's supposed to be shut off by using the power button on the front and then it'll be off, but only the red light will be on (like the PS2). However, I'm not completely sure as to what flipping the switch in the back could do to your system, but in this case I'd say that doing that caused it to want to restore.

Alright so I've been sitting on a pile of games that I've been meaning to trade in for a few months now, but I don't know where the best place is to get the max amount of money left

My problem is that I have games that date back to early gamecube and I'm really trying to avoid going to Gamespot (they'll give me at least $200)
