I currently purchased a 26" Samsung LCD but upon plugging in the PS2 via component cables i saw the ugliest graphics I have ever seen and I was playing gran turismo 4, one of the best looking ps2 games when played on standard tv. I dont know if anyone is aware of this but when playing gamecube games on my wii the graphics were imaculate, it looked so clear and this is still on my 26" samsung LCD, and so my question is this does the PS3 display ps2 games in any of the HD resolutions availabe (480p, 720p or 1080i) or even improve it visually when played on a HDTV? and even if not has anyone experienced the same thing or even witnessed great PS2 graphics via compnent cables on an LCD screen. Apologies for the long winded explanation but I just wanted to express my views clearly. For those who have the energy to read it completely I would appreciate any feedback or advice about the previous things mentioned and any suggestion of how to improve the ps2's visuals on lcd screens, thanks.
