yea i meant that NPC. and damn it, guess I should conserve effigies :D

I'm a little late to this convo, so I'm sure you already know this by now; but if you're running low on effigies, wear a life protection ring especially if you're going solo. It protects your humanity if you die, and also keeps you from dropping your souls. It'll break if you die, but it can be repaired.

huh, I get invaded plenty in NG+. You can get rewards through PvP from 2 separate covenants. I, for one, do not miss DS1 invasions - starting a brand new character and getting invaded in undead burgh by players in full Havel armor and lightning weapons - laame.

I will agree though that, for the most part, DS2 is easier than DS1

Likewise. I'm in NG++ and I get invaded CONSTANTLY. I remember the moment I stepped into Forest of the Fallen Giants, I literally got invaded right away and I knew I was in for it. The invasions are plenty, not sure what people are talking about. And I also do not miss the invasions from DS1, considering they were usually so one-sided.

Other than that, I think we can all agree that DS2 is easier than DS1, but that does not make it an easy game by any means. I have died PLENTY of times in here. And so what about the Life Protection ring? If you believe the ring makes the game feel like there is less at stake (which it does) then DON'T WEAR IT! I don't for that exact reason.

Realistically, it kind of does not matter what you choose in the beginning, so choose what you feel has the best perks in the beginning because as you level up you modify whatever you want and feel is needed. You can start the game off as a cleric, and end up turning into a strength build carrying heavy armor and weapons. I started the game off as a knight, like I've always done in the Souls series. I'm primarily a strength/faith build.

I have the Xbox One version and I can honestly tell you that the game is not nearly that dark as these pictures make it out to be. Maybe the calibration was off? I know with my Xbox One, I calibrated the screen after Forza advised me to do so, and it made a very big difference in how the games looked (DR3 was dark as hell before I adjusted the calibration).

Anyone else having this issue? At first, I thought it was a multiplayer issue, so I went and started playing the single player, and it did to me there as well. It's the only game that does this to me, and it also lost the checkpoint I was on when I last played. First time it happened to me was last night, which was the first time I've played it since getting the latest update.

I"m glad you're liking the PS4... but why in the world would you buy your multiplats for the X1? You'd rather your games run in 720p vs 1080p? I was the same as you last gen, buying my games for 360 and my PS3 was a device that played exclusives.... but not this new gen.... PS4 is the obvious choice when it comes to multiplats.

Not every single multiplatform game I'm buying will be only on the X1. When games like FFXIII released, I bought that game on the PS3 because none of it was compressed on to disc. And it was significantly superior to the 360 version. When games are drastically inferior on the X1, I'm getting it for the PS4. The up-scaled 720p on Ghosts isn't bad enough to make me switch, and the core reason being is the controller. I said I love the Dualshock 4, and I do. But I have always loved the Xbox's controller for shooters.

Pretty dumb to get inferior multiplats on xbone just cuz ur a fanboy.

A fanboy? LMAO how so? I've owned both the Xbox 360 and PS3 at launch, and a fanboy wouldn't get both systems; and praise the opposing system, genius. If anyone here is the fanboy, it's obviously you. Secondly, when games like FFXIII released, I bought that game on the PS3 because none of it was compressed on to disc. When games were TRULY inferior on the 360, I would buy it for the PS3 (FFXIII, Arkham Asylum, Darksiders etc). I would do the multiplatform games on the 360 for two reasons: achievements (I prefer over trophy's, mind you) and the controller.

[QUOTE="Pvt_r3d"]I never heard of this. I pre-ordered plenty of games from Amazon but I don't see anything about store credit.Dracula68

I have to agree as I've used Amazon very extensively for the past 2 years and have never seen anything like this. I already pre-ordered 2(yes 2) FF XIII and no "credits" seen on my end. Maybe not a US thing?

FFXIII for the 360 is eligible for the $10 in store credit along with Bioshock 2.

FFVII Advent Children, Hitman and Max Payne. Doom wasn't all that bad either.

Hmmm....I didn't find them frustrating at all. Far Cry 2 could be, but I never ever had a problem with Fallout 3. Fallout 3 has what it takes to keep it from being overly difficult such as the "save anywhere" option and if you find yourself getting your ass kicked then you can always level up. I always killed everything in sight so my character was usually over powered during the entire game.
