I spent a good chunk of my mid to late teens in the rave scene, so no, it wouldn't effect me very much... I have zero problem with it, so long as I don't have to deal with graphic sex talk. I know it's a bit hypocritical, given that as a tradesman I deal with plenty of hetero sex talk.

I was just thinking while watching some of the 24 hour stream that I missed that there should be a posting of the tracks used during the stream loading.

For the second time, I've heard a song that I'd really like to know the artist/track info (the 8-bit-ish track right before Jess took over), yet I can't find it anywhere.

I tend to treat DLC much like I did expansion packs back in the day. Additional content for those that want to continue their gaming experience with said game. However;
[QUOTE="Amster_G"]

I think it's only outrageous when developers launch separate DLC the same day the full game comes out. That I just find criminal!

Bozanimal
This is one of the things I want to understand. Why is this criminal? It's a larger version of shareware: You can play a certain amount of the game for the base cost, Boz

Using shareware is a very poor example here, as shareware was always free (not a $60USD release) unless you wanted the full game (I had a ton on my old 486, anybody remember 'Solar Winds?'). Same day DLC sends the implication that, 'this could've been in the full game, but we decided to charge you more for it.' The fact that if they would've waited a month or two to cash in on that extra gameplay wagon, and nobody would have complained kind of baffles me. As previously mentioned on this thread, I have no problem with DLC and the like, but releasing on-disc and/or launch day DLC is a shoddy practice that should be shunned outright by anyone that's ever held a controller in love of a game. EDIT: I thought I'd mentioned it earlier, but probably on another thread and not here... I treat DLC like the expansion packs of yesteryear. Additional gameplay in a game I love for less than the price of a full game.

I'd have to say, without question, DayZ. Although I've been known to team up with noobs on occasion to show them the ropes, I normally play it solo, as I know no one with the game well enough to play it with. This not only makes survival more difficult, it also limits your play style choices. Since I've never been able to be a total douche in multiplayer games such as DayZ, being a solo bandit or troll are out, which basically leaves being a bandit hunter or Samaritan/medic, both of which put you in situations that can very easily get you killed. Couple that with the extended time it takes you to gear up as a solo and the overall glitchiness inherent to an alpha build, it can lead to some really frustrating situations. I rarely get pissed off if I just died trying to jump some dicks killing new spawns, but when I've just spent several days finding all my favorite equipment, only to spawn into the world 20 feet in the air and fall to my death the next time I log in, well, let's just say it's the closest I've come to throwing a keyboard...

I'd have to say that if one specific game turned me on to a genre, it would be C&C: Red Alert and Simcity 2000. Since I played them I've been hooked on virtually every version of RTS game out there (save Starcraft. I honestly can't stand that series). Other than that, CoD 4 got me into console shooters (all of my friends had 360s), Gran Turismo got me into sim racers, and Jane's ATF got me into flight sims (and ultimately into getting a pilot's license). Since then, I've kept my options open and pretty much play anything, but games like the DCS series and SoaSE keep me coming back to my old favorites.

Welcome to my world. As I've said time and again here, I have the attention span of a ferret on crystal meth. I currently have about a dozen games on my HD that I play whenever the mood takes me. I always finish them, but as an example, I had one six hour session with the new Tomb Raider just after launch, and though I didn't dislike the game (the QTEs are fairly grating, but...), I haven't yet sat down to finish to campaign. Same goes for any number of games that I've played. If I could suggest anything, it would be getting a career that involves your mind more. I'm a tradesman in the Alberta oil sands, and have to say, I have a lot more focus when I'm spending 10-14 hrs a day working in a field that requires me to think for myself regularly. I don't know if this applies to you, but whenever I'm off work, my mind wanders and I can't get anything done. Perhaps this is ADHD at it's finest, but all I can say is that you'll be happier if you can find something worthwhile to occupy more of your time, and to use games as more of an escape for your free time whist working than a time killer in themselves. Trust me that compelling video games are that much more satisfying when your time with them is more limited.

Given that when I was browsing for my current TV, I had the option between a 3D TV and an ultra-high response time, I went with response time. Also, with Occulus Rift on the foreseeable horizon, current gen 3D TV technology seems more like a gimmick than something practical to modern gaming.

[QUOTE="MasterTankallex"]Well I've loaned a game out to someone who was once my friend, only to not get it back at all. Does that count?HipHopBeats

That definitely counts. I've learned the hard way never lend out anything you care about or expect to get back.

Although I won't dispute the fact that you shouldn't lend anything you're not willing to lose, I lend out my 360 to virtually any of my friends that ask. Lately, the only title that has caused me to ask for it back (which was a successful request), was NHL 13, other than that, I've only ever regretted selling systems/games. As long as you know the person, lending is not a problem (well, unless your friends are douchebags...).

I watched about seven seconds of that video and have to say two things: 1) Only in America 2) Somebody please off that guy with a bat. It would be doing the world's gene pool a favor. EDIT: Let me make it clear; I really don't care whether he's 'acting' or not, he's irritating to the point where his removal is necessary.
