The story just isn't the biggest factor in long term fandom in my opinion. I'd sooner believe a fan would join us for love of playing the game rather then taking in its narrative. At least this applies for those of us who stand as regulars which count for more than our lurkers (often just recruits who join by fancy rather then some omnipresent watcher). I happen to like the tale well enough...I've got simple enough tastes in that regard. A revenge tale? Sure, I'll have it.
I wouldn't go so far as to say one isn't a gamer. They're casuals if that's the case. Gameplay at the forefront for hardcores. Near the bottom for casuals. There's very litte room in between for the gray ("average") as I see things. Those looking for a total package or anything of that sort. Ultra hardcores are another matter entirely though they too focus on gameplay. Obsession with the series (merchandise, tokens, etc.) don't necessarily constitue a hardcore gamer so much as an obsessive/hardcore fan of the series..likely an average gamer in such a case. Joining us is no proof of even that much.

Dusty: You've not properly addressed my reply to you. It would indeed seem you skipped that entirely in this case while not directly noting you were speaking to Alucard. Poor form. I was lost until I reread the topic to see a few posts I'd missed while creating my own (earlier).
You say we do not focus enough on GoW, I'd wager the majority of the regulars would strongly disagree. You say 'Progress Threads' are akin to OT, I (for one) vehemently disagree. Would you chalk up "Tactics/Tips", "Specialty Run", "Speecrun", etc. threads to OT as well? Please be clear about your stance. Also, a response to my previous post addressing you would be most appreciated.
Would Union Games, OT, etc. with a GoW 'theme' be more to your liking? Obviously you would find thread reporting new info (Comprehensive) to your liking *though we tend to save that sort of thing for the Homepage and just discuss them whereever we please at this point unless another officer wishes to create a topic for that singular update's discussion*.
You speak of these ideal GoW topics that would be better for a GoW union. We appear to be fast approaching an impasse friend. Your thoughts?

I dont mind games and OT threads relating to God of War based threads. But i still disagree with these Progress threads. Instead of progress threads why dont we bring back the GOW I, II, CoO, and Betrayal Tips and Suggestion threads.
