I see. So its probably best to wait and see what the eventual plans are rather than dropping nearly $500 on a console and games?

I'm still a bit confused as to what it all means. Does the implementation of this system mean they'll be adding backwards compatibility with ps3 discs, or does it mean they'll simply be making ps3 games available to download over time? I'm trying to find out if I should bother with buying a ps3 console now so I can play exclusives like The Last of Us, or if they'll be available to play eventually on the ps4.

Quick backstory first, I've had my Wii since 2007, it was the first current-gen console I owned, but sadly, my playing of it gradually fell by the wayside after I bought a 360. To date, I still have 2 unfinished games (skyward Sword and Other M) that I plan on playing during the summer, along with finally buying some VC games that I still havent played (like Majora's Mask, Super Metroid, and Link to the Past if I can't find another copy of the GBA port). I'm still kind of on the fence about the WiiU and I figured that now, with E3 going on, would be a good time to ask these questions:

1. What's the deal with the WiiU VC? Do all the game I own port over, or do I have to re-buy them? Also, Will the entire library of VC game eventually be on the WiiU VC?

2. When are the games coming? I missed Nintendo's E3 livestream thing, but I have seen some highlights on gaming websites, like the reveal of Smash Bros, a new Mario 3D game, Mario Kart etc. I'm just wondering when will these games start to hit stores? The only WiiU games I'm really interested in right now are ZombiU and Mario Bros U, so in my eyes, the system is not really worth investing in for just 2 games.

This whole gaming generation I've been on Xbox's side of the 'console wars' (which occasional trips over to Nintendo's side) but I never held any interest at all in Sony games, in fact, the only Sony Platform I've ever owned was a PSP, which I only ever bought 4 or 5 games for. Just recently, it dawned on me that for the first time since I've been a hardcore gamer (about 8 years ago) that I'm going to experience the end of a gaming generation and the start of a new one, so for some reason I thought to myself 'I want to play all of the best games this generation had to offer' Having already played the majority of multiplatform and xbox exclusives on my 360, coupled with how amazing The Last of Us looks, I'm thinking up a plan of how best to go after this goal. I'm waiting to find out if the PS4 will have backwards compatibility or not (anyone know for sure yet btw?) but barring that, I'll probably pick up a 2nd hand ps3, or possibly see if any of my friends or relatives who own one can bear to part with theirs for a few weeks or months so I can play all of the best exclusives, so with that I'll ask the PS3 community- what are the best, must-play exclusives? Apart from TLoU, I took an interest in the inFamous and Uncharted games, but what else should be on my list?

I'm a big fan of the gaming community on youtube and for about a year now I've been thinking about trying my hand at that kind of thing, making playthroughs and commentaries and whatever. The only thing thats been holding me back is not having the money for the equipment, and being constantly bogged down with schoolwork. I now feel secure financially and term ends in about 6 weeks, so I've been looking around online for the equipment. I mainly game on my xbox so I've been looking at stuff like the Hauppauge pvr and Elgato device, either one of which would work perfectly for me, but in the last week or so I started thinking about my Wii. Haven't really played it in a good while, but I've been thinking about digging it out to replay some games, and download some virtual console titles that I've never gotten to play before (namely Super Metroid) so then the thought came to me "what if I ever want to record a wii or gamecube game, or dig out the gamecube and game boy player to play Metroid fusion or something like that? Will these devices work with that?''

So my question is simple: What capture devices work with older gaming systems as well as the new?

Just as it says in the title- what do you think the chances are of Nintendo announcing a WiiU deluxe set (or something similar) with the white edition of the console? I can't stand the glossy black plastic most consoles are made of (like my Xbox360 slim) because they're dust/fingerprint magnets so when I eventually get a WiiU I'd prefer a white one, but the limited memory could be a problem (I don't see myself downloading games digitally, except for possibly some virtual console titles)

I've already checked EB Games' website, the used prices are not that much lower than retail, somethin like 10 bucks difference.

......... Wii games start getting huge discounts and/or start hitting bargain bins? I find it kind of ridiculous that New Super Mario Wii and Mario Galaxy 2 came out 2-3 years ago and they're still retailing for $60. I haven't played my Wii much in the past few years but I still want to get these games.

I first bought this charge station in 2008 and up until the past few months its worked perfectly. Now I should note I haven't played my Wii on a daily basis for over a year. Before skyward sword came out, I personally, rarely played it, but it was used by my younger siblings and their friends and so on.

I recently started trying to play the Wii again, to finish skyward sword and play through metroid; other m (finally picked it up for 5 bucks) but my wiimotes don't seem to stay charged anymore. I'll use them until the battery dies, then plug it into the charge station, and they'll be charged in an hour, but the battery life will last for less than half an hour before it needs charging again. Are the battery packs used up and need replacing, or is the charging station defective? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I finished my playthrough of White with a team of Lv. 50s [Samurott, Krookodile, Darmanitan, Musharna, Whimsicott, Throh (And Zekrom for the final battle)] I started up the postgame adventure (proceeded to Route 11/12 to catch a Ruflett/Braviary)and suddenly every trainer's pokemon are lv. 60 or higher, did I miss something or is that consistant across the full postgame?
