For me, it's close between DQVIII and FFXII.

XII had an amazing storyline, immersive world, huge, detailed adventure and it was just an amazing epic.

DQ was amazing in the old vein of RPGs and just how the classics used to be.

But I'll have to go with FFXII, the characters, detailed and lush world, story and fresh gameplay got to me.

I was playing Jak X the other day and, for the first time, it gave me trouble.

My save file got corrupted, and it completely disappeared off the memory card. So, I made another save file by starting a New Game, which it didn't allow me to do. After that, it would continue to eat away space on my memory card just as if it WERE creating save files. Furthermore, it corrupted my God of War and GoWII saves.

Not such a big deal since I traded in GoW and GoWII to GameStop the other day (for a combined $100, but that's another story XD), but I'd like the space back on my memory card.

Currently, I have all the saves I don't want to lose on my primary memory card.. then a few leftovers I don't care about on my secondary memory card with the corrupted bits of data.

So, is there any way to reformat the card? It's about now that the Sony Holiday 2004 demo disc, that erased your memory card clean of saves, would have come in handy, lol.. but I threw that away in frustration after losing a whole memory card worth of saves.

Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Either way you go, you would be making an awesome choice.

My top picks would be RE4 or the MGS pair.

You'll get a lot of play and replay value out of RE4 with its extra modes (some of which aren't on the Cube's version) and it's an all around amazing game.

MGS has one of the best stories around and gameplay to match. And, the series is simply legendary.

DMC3 is probably the best DMC title and easily one of the best action games on the PS2, while GoW is just as much a great title.. though I like DMC's over-the-top action a bit more.

So, I'd say get RE4 as my vote. Especially if you're only getting one PS2 game and the next one isn't coming along for a bit.

Just curious, is there a relatively simple method to doing this? That is, printing up a cover for a PS2 game and having it come out about the right size?

I have a few games that I didn't get covers with and wanted to see if it was possible. I only have an MS Paint program for image editing, though.

Anyway, thanks for any insight!

Neither.

Ratchet & Clank > HALO

and

Jak and Daxter (and others) > Mario, in my opinion, of course.. lol

Well, I've had a PS2 since '03 and recently got a Cube the first day of '07, so I got the PSCube combo goin' for now.

Currently, though, I'm saving up for a PS3 and aiming to buy end of Summer or start of Fall to get Ratchet & Clank Future, along with other titles that will either be released by then, or getting concrete release dates.

Maybe even hoping for a price drop for that first year the PS3's been out.

I was pretty close to picking up a Wii, though.. but never found it, so I ended up spending about $500 to get a Cube, nearly 20 games and a new 32" TV, lol.

[QUOTE="greekboy1981"]i love the graphics of the latest ps2 games, they look awesome! i just got a ps2 and im glad i did, coz ppl were sayin the graphics are bad and cheap lookin! they are INSANE!! this has graphics close to ps3! 4 me it's great and REAL lookin! GOOD games and FUN too :) ps2+psp ALL the way! :)RockmanSRD

I take it that you found some PS2 games you like.

The PS2 also has some great games in terms of real style in graphics, not just realism.  Some that come to mind would be Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, Okami, even Killer 7.

That's true. The PS2 definitely had some games that had amazing art design that no other system even dreamt of having. Okami, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus and Zone of the Enders comes to mind.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

2. Metroid Prime

3. Geist

4. Resident Evil 4 (even though I only played the PS2 version, its still a phenomonal game)

5. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

Yeah, I agree.. it looked great when it first came out, but the PS2 library just got better and better looking. Or, at least it did for those who put quality hours of work into their games.. like Metal Gear Solid 3, Jak II/3, Zone of the Enders the 2nd Runner, Resident Evil 4 and many others.
