I am in the need of a great time killer. Starcraft, Company of Heroes, Call of Duty (all of them), Sins of Solar Empire, and quite a many more were great but they are wearing thin I need something that'll get me through 12 hour night shifts and last long enough until some of the great upcoming games hit.

So let me know what some of your favorite time killers are. Year or genre doesn't matter.

[QUOTE="RobMetalCheese"]E.T. for the Atari 2600. You can't get more crappier than an entire system dying off because of one game.zelda450

Oh please. If you think that's the worst game ever, you can't have played some of the other games in the 2600 library. Also, no way did the system die because of that game.

Interesting little article:

E.T. is seen as marking the beginning of Atari's downfall and is often viewed as one of the biggest commercial failures in video gaming history, as well as the worst video game ever made E.T. was a contributing factor to Atari's massive financial losses during 1983 and 1984, and a glut of unsold copies of the game helped contribute to the video game crash of 1983. As a result of overproduction, hundreds of thousands of unsold cartridges were buried in a New Mexico landfill.

yeah i'd go with an external USB DVD drive. With ISO's, more than likely you are going to run into copyright protection which will prevent you from using the image anyways, which there are ways around, but none are legal.

reason it however you want, and while it might make sense all it does is give developers a reason NOT to make pc games and just focus on console games. plain and simple. every illegal download is looked upon as a lost sale...business execs do NOT care whether that person ever intended on buying the game. so yeah feel free to download games for free....while there are still decent games to download....

I am almost positive that my 8800 GTX is defective, I'm going to call Dell tomorrow and see if they can replace my card, if they don't carry the 8800 GTX anymore, which card do you think they will upgrade me to? What is the 8800 GTX equivalent nowadays?

Ihatevista117
I have dual XFX 8800GTXs in my comp I got from cyberpower almost 2 years ago. When one of them died, cyberpower wouldn't replace it because it was over 7 months since my warranty expired. So I bought a new card off eBay and I was reading some of the XFX stuff that came with it and it turns out XFX offers a lifetime warranty on all cards as long as you register them within 30 days of purchased. I went ahead registered the dead card and sent in a ticket on their website asking if they could replace for me anyways since I was unaware of the registration policy. They authorized it and two weeks later I had another brand new XFX 8800GTX. Now I doubt Dell uses XFX or EVGA or PNY etc... but you never know. Considering it's dell it's probably a proprietary card but still worth checking out.

[QUOTE="Captain__Tripps"][QUOTE="aschuhart"]

Maxium PC predicts that it "is a mere months away". I don't buy it.

Well, 18 months would fall under that... lol I think end 2009 at the earliest, and probably more likely 2010.

Very true, and that's about the time frame that I pretty much expect as well.

^^^ the OS itself or the beta? bedram793
They didn't specify. It was in an article about what stupid things you could do before the end of the year (or something to that effect) and one of the examples was "Spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade to Vista when Windows 7 is a mere months away".
