@above_average: Try not OD on copium. At least 30FPS would give your eyes time to rest.🤭

There is no copium on my end. If the game is coded to where it can only run 30fps on PS5 & XSX then it's guaranteed to run like shit on your precious PC as well.

You PC guys will be crying the loudest once the specs and performance on everything but 4090 with the best CPUs is revealed

Actually, it's highly probable that the 30 fps on consoles is strictly caused by the shitty CPU. If we look at the Steam requirements, both of these 30 fps estimations are rocking outdated CPUs. The Ryzen 5 3600X is about what's in a PS5/XSX, so it stands to reason that the CPU is the likely the bottleneck.

Someone with a 12700k/5800X will more than likely see 60 fps(with a decent video card) as they are much stronger CPUs.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

    • MINIMUM:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)/Windows 11 (64 bit)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5 10600 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8GB VRAM
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Additional Notes: Estimated performance: 1080p/30fps. Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 required to support ray tracing.
    • RECOMMENDED:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)/Windows 11 (64 bit)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 / AMD Radeon RX 6700
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Additional Notes: Estimated performance: 2160i/30fps. Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 required to support ray tracing.

Stellar Blade...😂 Skip the videogame mask and just get real porn.😏

For real. So busy looking at her boobs, the side obsessed with graphics didn't notice how bad the environments look. Like something between Unreal 3 and 4.

Just take the scene at 38 seconds. That looks interchangeable with the Crysis 2 or 3 remaster.

1:50, 1:52, 3:00

This game looks like shit.

For me, I don't care, but this is the side that calls out every Xbox game.

This literally looks like an Xbox One remaster of an Xbox 360 game.

No way this is as bad as Xbox 360. You may want to look at a 360 game before you make that statement. However, it does look a lot like Fallout 4 graphics as far as environment goes, I'll give you that, and that was not a great looking game even on release.

@mrbojangles25: See the problem you and people like you is well I've already bought it so I still have access to it. It's all about YOU.

What about future generations who will get into gaming and want to play older games, they simply have NO choice on Steam and soon to be consoles when they go all digital.

You need to stop thinking about yourself all the time and think about game preservation also.

The history of video games should be open to everyone, not just those "lucky" enough to be born when certain games were made.

Typically delisted games end up being free to download on abandonware sites eventually. Go google abandonware games and see what you can find.

I mean, do we blame 4K or do we blame Sony here?

4K is a rediculous resolution and even mighty PC can struggle to run games on a 4K monitor at high frames, let alone a giant television.

I still think a.) we jumped to 4K too soon (at least as far as gaming is concerned), and b.) should focus more on performance and stability than quality visuals.

I mean if you can't make your game look good at 4K, the least you can do is make it run well. Don't give me a good looking game that runs like crap.

Well, to be fair, ray tracing and stuff like that was completely off the table before the gen started. Those seem to be the big killers since DD2 will be getting ray tracing(at least on the PC version)--and if it is, then that might be the major fps killer, but who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

The funny thing is, consoles are dropping resolution for many games and many still aren't running at 4k. The Finals, for instance is only at 1440p basically all of the time except looking straight up into the sky on the consoles. It's not really the fact that 4k is hard to hit, because that's not even the reason much of the time--it's mainly the garbage CPU they put in these consoles.

I can't remember, was ray tracing common when the gen started? Or was even planned?

I know it was around but I can't remember if it was as common (or expected to be as common) as it is now. PS5 came out like 2 years ago or something?

In either case, I feel like they should have/could have accounted for it on console. I imagine when they're drafting the specs for these machines they know what coming and what the demand will be before we do.

In either case, I almost always have ray tracing off on my PC, and I have a RTX3080 working at 1440p. Sometimes ray tracing works fine, other times it just kills it. Cyberpunk and Avatar, for example, definitely need it off to get good performance.

*ah, PS5 came out a little over three years ago.

PC is the only way to play then.

There you go again, stating the obvious 🙄

😁

I don't know for sure, but Nvidia's first reveal for just rendering was 5ish years ago in Battlefield 5 and the consoles came out a little over 3 years ago. It's possible that Nvidia pushed for it after the consoles were already ready, but it's also possible that AMD didn't think anything of it and it would have been too expensive to account for. Nvidia also pushed DLSS hard as well, and that actually cascaded over to AMD to create FSR.

The consoles have a lot to be thankful for to Nvidia, honestly. If Nvidia hadn't invented DLSS and marketed it like crazy, FSR would have ceased to exist.

@DragonfireXZ95: yup, they added more RT effects that weren't in the PS5 version at all. For both Ratchet and Clank and the two Spiderman games.

I'm looking and I only see improvements, not actual extra RT methods used. It seems to be just reflections, which is exactly what the PS5 uses, of course at a lower level of RT detail. This is from the DF page: https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2022-marvels-spider-man-pc-tech-review

Where exactly in the video do they highlight new RT features? Because frankly, I'm not watching the whole 26 minutes to find it. Lol

I was hoping they'd add some RT, but I figured they wouldn't since they didn't for any of the other ports except Returnal, which looks great.

I'll be skipping this at least until it's cheap since I wasn't a big fan of the first one.

If it had RT, I'd want to check it out just for the tech portion, but meh, I'll wait.

Glad it's coming to PC, though.

A lot of the RT effects in Spiderman weren't there before on PS4, I suggest taking a look at the DF tech interview with Nixxes as well :)

Were there? Or were they just stronger RT implementations? I know the reflections and shadows have more bounces, but I don't think they added any extra RT. I believe Returnal added reflections for the PC version, whereas the PS5 still uses screenspace.

It is possible that Horizon FW adds RT later on, though, you are right about that. Since Returnal didn't have any RT at all to begin with and then they had a big update.

@pclover1980: It uses Monster Hunter's server and multiplayer setup, battle setup, Fortnite's also along with a bunch of Fortnite emotes, building and etc. Elden Ring it uses a bunch, like Dungeons, Evergaols, Church's, scenery's etc.

That makes zero sense. I'd remove all of those, but compromised integrity likes to do that and skew the narrative. *hint hint*

Monster Hunter does not have a join code through the main menu. Everything is done within the game after you load in. The system isn't the same at all.

Elden Ring has no loading screens until you fast travel or die. Even the dungeons are not instanced so to speak.

Churches? What?

And tons of games use building mechanics, so are all of those games comparable to Fortnite? These comparisons are ridiculous and nonsensical.

All of the things you wrote make zero sense to people that have actually played the game.
