As much as people hate Mr. Pitchford he is right, without any selling point for the Steam Machine no one is going to jump on it. What incentive is there for someone who already has a PC to get one of these and whats to make console gamers drop their already established consoles they are familiar with and switch to a brand new console? I trust Valve mostly and they do some amazing stuff but if they are trying to sell this with only their brand name they are in for some hard times.

I'm really getting sick and tired of this, can't I play a game or watch something with out the creator trying to push sex appeal? Seriously, this just comes off as a desperate attempt to use sex as a substitute for good story and gameplay. Come on people get your act together, that goes double for you Japan.

Nintendo really didn't think the WiiU all the way through, why should anyone make games for it if they are going to sell a fraction of the copies they will on the X1, PS4, PC and cost more to make and take longer as well? Lets hope Nintendo learns from this, because its all they can do at this point.

@berserker66666 Hell yea, slamming aliens into the floor as Mr. Abe himself is kickass. Still want Jackson though.

Come on Volition you should know better, Andrew Jackson is the most
Saints president there ever was and the most deserving to wear the purple suit and tie.

@SgTFuzzy-18 Its not the microtransactions them selves that are bugging me, its that this is pretty much all Valve is doing now. Sure you don't have to but that doesn't stop them from spending time putting them into almost everything now. TF2 has crates, CS:GO now has crates, Steam has trading cards, when will it stop? Not everyone likes random cosmetic items and not everyone cares, so when this is all that Valve is putting out people are going to stop caring.

As much as I love Valve I find my self liking them a bit less every time news like this hits. I know game development is hard and takes time and Valve are gods among men when it comes to it but i can't help but think that they might be getting side tracked with things like this. Its really hard to complain about things like this because its a very balanced F2P model and its good to support your mutiplayer titles after launch but one thing bugs me right now, CS:GO isn't a F2P game. It seems like Valves focus has changed from making games to adding in microtransactions where ever and when ever they can. I love Valve but when it takes so long for a game to come out and instead of acutaly seemingly doing nothing but throw microtransactionsations at me i can't help but care less and less by the day.

I don't think Nintendo really knows how hard it is to make games seeing how they barely make any. They rehash the same ideas and make HD ports of old games and when a new game does come out it doesn't really scream pain staking work. Now I'm not saying its easy, making a game just right takes hard work and time but when i look at other devs and see what they do in less time and less money it really makes you think. Take a nice long look at CD Project RED who make triple A grade games far larger then Nintendo's games and made by a company that is vastly smaller then Nintendo. Or look at 4A games who had to smuggle in computers and work during the winter without any heat and unreliable power with a budget that was only 10% of a normal triple A game and yet still made a fantastic game that was given a 9 by this very site. So Nintendo when you say that you work hard just look at these two guys and you will see what it is like to actually work hard to make games.

What made them look at the Ouya and say "Hey! We should make a console no one is going to buy too!"

I would like to make some long comment but honestly i think everyone can see the failed logic on Mr. Iwata's own comment. He isn't looking at long term company profit he is looking at long term CONSOLE profit and with the way he is doing it they aren't getting any long term or short term profit in that area. Right now Nintendo needs to not only make an amazing console that can gather all the third party devs but also hope that both Sony and Microsoft's head quarters both just burn down. They need a miracle that isn't going to happen, get out of the water Nintendo the ship has already sank and your turn is up.
