The Point has been my favorite series on GS. Sadly, the time between seasons seems so long that I sometimes forget how good it is until the next season comes along.

This may be the thoughtful thing anyone has said on GS to date.

Gaming has grown from a niche activity that people were made fun of to now being one of the mainstream media platforms. Their is no longer a single demographic that consumes games. Now that gaming has mass appeal developers have to stop trying to make games to fit everyone's tastes. Gamers have to stop expecting games to cater to their specific preferences.

Once we come to the realization that not every game has to sell like CoD or GTA. Once we accept that some games aren't meant for our demographic, and we aren't in the place to judge it objectively, then we will be able to take that next step forward in the evolution of gaming.

Danny put it perfectly. Gaming has been in its teenage stage for a few years now. A transitional period between the youthful emergence of gaming and its future place as the dominate form of media entertainment. Just like our teenage years there will be awkward moments and mistakes made as we take that next step forward into maturity. Realizing this I feel very optimistic and excited for the next evolutionary stage of gaming.

TL'DR: We are in a transitional period in gaming. The future is very bright.

@souls454 10 years of great products. Then 1 mediocre product. == Give up and never make another game again? Really? Did they not build up any good will? DO they not deserve a 2nd chance?

@jack00 Gamers with an RPG background like Kevin and myself want games with interesting characters and story. I know some people only care about the action but story matters just as much to the rest of us.

@xantufrog Watching this game I couldn't stop thinking, "man this game looks like a shiner BL with less guns and no powers.

Another major hyped game for the next-gen that has fallen short. Oh dear lord please let Bioware deliver with DA:I. If they don't then 2014 would end up being the lost year for AAA titles.

I think it has potential if there is enough content. I was very uneasy with the idea of multiplayer in ME3 and it ended up being my favorite mulitplayer game from 2012-2013.

I have no friends. So I only play single player games.

Honestly, the biggest issue with the combat in DA2 wasn't the faster more action oriented mechanics. The big problem was that the enemies weren't balanced even on nightmare difficulty. Weak enemies + faster combat == super easy mode. I'm hoping that with the longer development cycle they had more chance to balance the combat.
