I played the demo and was disapointed. I dont mean to sound cruel, there is clearly the main elements of storytelling and production value that metal gear solid series has been known for, but outside of that, its just a hack and slash that has moments of genius interspersed with moments of generic. Which is a shame just cause the track record of the MGS series is anything but generic. And i think the problem is, that it feels the need to connect itself so hard to the MGS universe that it doesnt allow itself to stand on its own. Hard to compare a stealth game with a hack and slash, but only two or three times in the demo was i impressed, but nothing too new or groundbreaking.

I really like that the game focuses on making the female sex equal to the male sex. Very few fighting games feature female protagonists, and here, the women have a high level of inner power. The problem is, the history of DOA has been overshadowed by the hyper sexualization of these characters.

Honestly, this series has had some of the best fighting mechanics in fighting game history, the multitier levels are amazing to play in, and graphicly, its astounding. Sadly even fans of the game series point out that the selling point is the female fanservice, when I play this game despite the fanservice and it overshadows the good in this game, as well as the use of portraying women to be a powerful species. So in the case of shaming games like this, I say its not that i do so, its more of a disapointment that in the past, the game hasnt been allowed to stand for itself without marketing some level of focus on better and stronger eye candy than previous games.

There is also a reason Dead or Alive Xtreme sereis has been critcially panned.

I agree with practically evrything you said. I think the story behind the game is almost as good as the story in the game.

To be honest, I understand their busness decision. True Crime New York was beyond garbage. The name would have hampered sales. Although they themselves could have changed the name. I just think they werent prepared to pony up on the advertssing and billing of such a game.

Had some reservations about the profanity, but for the most part, I like what ive seen. PS. People keep saying the clown figure is Virgil, I cant help but think of Arkham's joker personality, plus a person who would manipulate dante into doing what he wants him to do, replace Mundus with himself, would totally be in character.

I have yet to play 3, but the first two games had alot of twists and turns that I got kinda lost, but that being said, it has a good track record of being pure grit and the intensity is added by the gameplay and epic shootouts.

Tell tale games though have used the episodic model since day one though, and they always offer the entire package at a reduced price up front. They fully acknowledge their seasons and dont rush into sequals or useless dlc that costs money. And telltale follows a pretty standard business mode and I have found their track record to be econinomical if not a bit swindling. They offer a base price per episode, but will also at the same time offer a season pass for a bit cheaper. But upfront, you know what you are getting. 1-3 hours of content for the price listed and to be updated DLC monthly for as many episodes as it says. During the final episodes, they start to drasticly reduce prices for the season. Is it common practice? Yeah, and if you pay upfront you may feel like a chump but when you compare their model to lets say capcom, Ea, and others, TT is pretty blunt and open about their business. And again, the been doing this since Sam and Max Season 1 so its not new in any shape way or form. However, I think some companies could benifit from tell tale and I think DLC is the future, but you state it like this practice will lead to overcharging and stuff for the future. Look at Capcoms game model, and yes, I agree, but so far, TT has been honest and predictable in their practices.

At the end of the day, I like having a disk for my games. But downloading a AAA title has some sort of alure like its forbidden and buildin a digital library issomehow cool just because we are used to going to te store, waiting in line, and hoping for pickup. Digital is probably going to be the direction things go and I hope that isnt the case as I like visiting my game stores! And i want to be able to insert discs into my systems. I do thnk people and companies take advantage of us the consumers with DLC and I wish it would stop in alot of ways.

The problem with DMC4 was simply that as a gamer, i was treated to a game that said, "more to be revelaed in the sequal." As a result, my experiance with DMC4 was weak, and consensus on DMC 4 is mixed among dmc fans. Now they areannouncing a business model that hypes this business practice. I think its less about Dmc and more about mass producing games the same way EA sports does.

Sometimes, a series can hit a wall, and sometimes, conditions need to be right to warrant a sequal. Look at the clamouring for Brutal Legends 2 or Psychonaughts 2. now tell me the desire for these games would be the same if they were releasing them the same way that ubisoft releases assassins creed games. (honestly im bored with the franchise).

What I think it means is that their upcoming game already has on disk DLC and they were saying, "We are too lazy to fix that, we will worry about your petty concerns o later games."

I will say though, I dont think Ninja Theory has the time or resources to deliver DLC. Other than Pigsy's perfect 10, there wasnt much DLC for their past games worth note.
