I have no idea, man. I mean, I'm happy it's on the DS (that means I get to play it), but a direct sequel? That's a bit bizarre, but hey, something new! I loved how Pokemon G/S/C connected with R/B/Y, so hopefully this'll be awesome (if it's a direct sequel that is).

I honestly have never beaten Banjo Kazooie so pardon my ignorance on this, but is there a way to activate the jinjo statues in different orders? Maybe that could work.rwallacefan
That isn't it. That would be poor design of Rare to force you to activate them in an order, then leave you stranded if you get them wrong. 4 of them pop up and you're suppose to be able to activate them in any order. The *ding* sound goes off when firing the eggs in them, but in my game, one of the statues doesn't do the ding, so it never activates. I had that idea too at first, so don't worry.

If I recall, it takes a f*ck ton on eggs to activate the big Jinjy statue. She always killed me before I could activate him. All I can tell you is that if you are literally touching the statue when you are shooting the eggs, they just break off the base before they can go in the holes.

It's actually the small statues that are giving me the problem. I've tried being in the holes, far away, shooting them directly, firing them from Kazooie's back-end, and nothing works. I did manage to get that far a few minutes ago though. I activated the big Jinjo statue fine, but then a fireball hit me as soon as he was gonna pop out and killed me :(. I tried fighting Grunty again after I died, but the bug showed right back up and I got re-stuck.

I've beaten the game on N64 three times.Eikichi-Onizuka
Wish I could beat it once. :( I'm currently working on going through another game slot. I hate doing this work all over again (especially on Rusty Bucket Bay). It would be nice to have some information about this bug though. I can't find a thing about it anywhere.

I'm at the final battle with Grunty. I go through the battle just fine, but at the moment where you have to activate the Jinjo statues, I can't. I can activate them all but 1. I've tried going back and fighting her again and again. Each time it won't let me activate the last statue. The bug only went away 1 time out of 6 battles and I did manage to activate all 4 statues, but I was so shocked it worked that she hit me with a spell and I died. This is very, very annoying. I worked so hard to get this far but a stupid bug won't let me beat Grunty.

So what do I do? Is this bug exclusive to the cart or the game file? Am I going to have to buy another cart or start a new game? How can I prevent this glitch? I can't seem to find hardly any information elsewhere about this, so I'm assuming it's a pretty rare bug.

Edit: This is on the Nintendo 64 btw.

.......this game is utter sh!t. You can't even block half the time. Plus everyone moves like slugs.

Looks like I'm gonna take it back.

Haha, just be patient, man. It's a fighting game. All fighting games kick newbies down. Happens to me all the time whenever I play something other than Tekken or Mortal Kombat. You just have to practice and have patience.

Talk to the scarecrow in town. He teaches you a song to slow time down. Use that and it'll help.

When I first played, I thought it was harder than OOT. It doesn't have as many dungeons, so the difficultly on them is vamped up some to make up for that (to me anyway). I don't believe you'll need a walkthrough though. Just pay attention, read everything, explore around during all hours of the day/night and you should do fine.

[QUOTE="Another48hours"][QUOTE="DevilBorg"]Just pick one up (but not 7 or 8 since they are different from the rest IMO). We could argue all day which one to start with, but nobody has the correct answer. My first Mega Man game was 9. I liked it so much I picked up the Anniversary Collection and played 1, then 10 when it came out, then 2, and now I'm just playing them in order 3 to 8.

Edit: Just re-read your question, OP. You're asking for a newer Mega Man title. In that case, 9 and 10 are your only choices (not counting spin-offs anyway), as Mega Man 8 was made for the SNES, so there's a huge gap there. The N64 ones were very, very different because of the 3D, so just ignore those and play 9 or 10 to start out with if you aren't willing to go back to the NES era.

i play the Megaman series so I am wondering what you are talking about. I just happened to read your post a few thoughts: Megaman 7 and 8 are not different from the rest Megaman 8 is not a SNES game. 9 and 10 are not the only choices the N64 ones? You mean one, and that was a BAD PORT of the one on the playstation. The 3D Megaman games are Megaman Legends, a different series. (The only original series 3D Megaman game on PS is Canon Spike and that's not really a Megaman game. That and the racing game Battle & chase) Why would he ignore the 3D Megaman games again?

Oh man. I didn't realize Mega Man 64 was just Legends. 7 and 8 (I didn't realize that wasn't for the SNES, so my fault again) feel different from the rest of the games. They're lower in quality. I just don't think it'd be a good starting out point for somebody new. Not saying they're bad, but might not be the best ones for somebody new. I'll go back and edit my post to fix those mistakes.

Depends on what you want. Red and Blue will give you the true old-style experience. FireRed doesn't feel the same because they put in the newer mechanics. So, R/B for original experience, and FR/LG for original look, but newer options/graphics. I wouldn't bother with Yellow unless you're compelled to have a non-evolveable Pikachu to follow you around. It wouldn't be good for a first Pokemon game for people.

[QUOTE="Aero5555"]

[QUOTE="hydralisk86"]isn't it true that DS games use flash memory, therefore will never run out?hydralisk86

As long as the cart stays in good condition then yeah.

May I ask why you're so concerned about the longevity of save states and battery packs?

I don't like the idea of playing a game, and then the save battery dying, thus erasing my progress. Just the thought of a dead battery turns me off.

So that means almost no cartridge games for you then? That just seems a bit paranoid. Memory cards can get corrupted, hard drives can stop working, batteries can run out of juice: nothing is perfect. You take a chance with everything. I haven't heard of anybody having a battery problem on cartridge games except for Pokemon G/S/C (and rarely, Pokemon R/B/Y.). Not counting my NES Zelda example, mind you, but that's incredibly rare to bump into.
