The Elder Scrolls is developed by Bethesda Game Studios. The Elder Scrolls Online is developed by ZeniMax Media. They are different divisions of the same company.
Bethesda Game Studios is currently in the process of developing Fallout 4. We'll probably get another Elder Scrolls afterwards.
"No one should be allowed to define what a video game is or should be; no one has this power."
This seems like a straw man argument to me. I don't think anyone has ever said that one person gets to decide what a game is. Words and ideas are defined based on general consensus.
True, but they have to have something to differentiate it from the other video game websites that are out there. If they are removing the features listed above, then what are they adding that would make someone come to Gamespot over IGN or another website?
I'd say the amount graphics has to do with the overall quality of a game depends on what type of game it is. A game like CoD is better when the graphics are better. Skyrim is better when the graphics are better. Games like Minecraft or Limbo are less about how they look and more about how they play.
