@Martyr77 @soiled_waffle They're just as good as they need to be. 343 didn't want to go over board with the updates. Frankly, I think they went into too much detail on the some the levels in CE.
@drysprocket @Darth_Starwind The thing is he did get to play some but very little was said about it good or bad. Just his comments on how it felt or it seemed to feel this way or..., etc. Nothing concrete other than the matchmaking wasn't functioning the way it should.
@drysprocket @Darth_Starwind @xsonicchaos Games are in a weird spot. Day one they might be junk. Day 14 the game is now spotless. That said, the industry standard at the moment is to rate the game with the bugs being fixed in the future in mind. They usually are fixed at a later date. If you look up most the "professional" reviews featured on Metacritic, GameSpot is the only major name to hold Halo to such a level.
Personally I think what the reviewer should have done in this case was to offer two reviews; one for the single player and on for the multiplayer. That is essentially what he did except in regards to the score. On the multiplayer side should have read "review pending or incomplete" Hell, even give it a score with the side note that it could change at a later date. GameSpot did this two review method on GTA V. There was a review for GTA V and GTA Online. It worked very well.
@Ovirew I doubt there is an overt bias, but Bayonetta 2 getting a 10 was bull. 8 or 9 would have been fair but claiming it was a flawless game is a bit reaching. When I see someone giving a game a 10 (or a Zero), I usually pass on reading that particular review
This whole review just felt like it was a rant against the multiplayer by some who didn't get their way. I'm not saying that what he is, it just comes across sounding like that.
@Ovirew @Darth_Starwind He said he remembered that her voice sounded "tinny". If you have ever heard Julie Benz's voice, then you would know that is an apt description of her voice.
This maybe be a ticky tacky point on my part but Watters' comments on the sound of Miranda Keyes' voice was kind of dumb. Miranda sounded different in Halo 2 because she was played by Julie Benz. In Halo 3, she was played by Justis Bolding. So of course she would sound different. Didn't he know that the voice actress was a different person in Halo 2? If he didn't then he did not do his due diligence as a reviewer. If he is going to be making this kind of comment in his review then he should damn well know the subject.
@xsonicchaos Its not the whole site, its just this reviewer in this case. I understand that the multiplayer is messed up right now but his constant complaining about it sounded more like whining the an educated review at times.
@zeusbark I think Destiny is a good example of that. Very good graphics (and to be fair solid gun play) but that is all. The rest of the game is a dud at the moment.
