I'll say it's the hilt keeping it there. The beam is smaller than the hilt.

Only thing that could improve is getting a Quad core. Me gots a Q6600 and I'm glad I didn't waste money getting a dual.

Let's see... homeschooling. Not bad, just you're missing out on other people your age.

Shielding them from that just means they won't be as prepared as others for the world.

Also, how exactly does sex ed work? :P

my sister went to homeschool until the 9th grade. she graduated with a bachelors at St. Edwards university in Austin and is now the head drama teacher at a high school, my cousin was homeschooled until his senior year in high school he's now a supervisor at a cable company. how many social skills do you take from high school? not much. how much do you learn in high school? that's one reason why we have such low scores. everyone is worried about their kids social skills instead of what really counts, their kids education. people need to homeschool their kids more actually. jlh47

When reading you concerns about education, I couldn't help but notice the lack of capitolization at the beginning of sentences.

When I entered public schooling I had far greater intelligence and better scores then any of my class mates. I also had tons of friends.SAURON221

I was thinking lately about blogs, and how there are only the two options-- viewable by friends only, and public.

So what if there was a code you put in, exactly like the spoiler one, that only friends can view? That way, a message could go across to friends on blogs only, without totally blocking your page to all but those few.

This would be a very useful addition and I hope you'll consider it ;)

I tried it out for a bit, and it's a great browser. I'm using the IE8 Beta right now and prefer IE7, and Chrome does a lot right.

It does seem slower loading, though, and things pop up like I have dial-up o.O

Also, it was much slower downloading than IE8, and there wasn't any smooth scrolling/scrolling with the middle mouse button.

And, the main thing I use to browse in IE is the windows live toolbar (I made all the buttons myself, I'm a top contributor on the site, check it out) and with it I can have all my RSS feeds, links and all that. But Google doesn't seem to support it :?

Anyway, IE is too familiar for me to stop using. The progress bar popping up only when it's needed is a great feature, and when you open a new tab... most visited pages. Just... can't top my toolbar.

Hey, I've got a Q6600 2.4GHz quad core, an 8800GT 512MB, and yet when I record things in FRAPS I'm getting WORSE FPS than with my old 8600GT.

Here's an example... I can get 60FPS in Unreal Tournament 3, but if I try to record it with FRAPS, instead of losing about 20FPS, I lose almost all of it. The result is a slideshow. I un and re-installed Fraps but even in a game like Half-Life Source I get like 300FPS normally and with FRAPS 20. The number's usually under 1/10th of the original FPS. I've used Fraps before and I know how many FPS I should be getting in these games, and while recording... I get 120FPS in Garry's Mod, and about 12 with Fraps recording. My resolution is 1680x1050 and I can easily max every game I own (except Crysis of course). I do a lot of game recordings for my youtube videos, but I have to resort to 720x480 and about 20FPS to record them. Has anyone else had this problem? I have all the latest Nvidia drivers, and I'm running windows Vista with all the latest updates installed, including SP1.

I know I should be getting much better performance, but for some reason recording makes the games unplayable.

Oops, forgot to put the 8800GTX in there.

9800 GX2, GTX 280, 9800GTX, Ultra, 8800GTX, 8800GT, 8800GTS, 9600GT

is the basic order of power.

Though it is disputed which one is more powerful; the GX2 or the GTX 280. Also, I've heard that the 9800GTX is "the most powerful card you can buy" before the 280 was out. But I find that hard to believe since the GX2 is such a powerful card that was out then.
