Nintendo didn't get stomped in the N64, Game Boy Color generation. They had tons of awesome games on both.

Gamecube got stomped though. Third parties didn't want to develop for Gamecube because it was perceived as a system 'for kids' and you had to change the format to make the game on mini-discs. Plus, some of Nintendo's first party efforts weren't that great. Mario Kart was the worst Mario Kart ever, or one of the worst, Super Mario Sunshine is the worst 3-D Mario by far, and people whined about Wind Waker's graphics, even though the game was awesome. The system was hardly for kids with Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, and Resident Evil 4 on it, though, all of which were awesome...

GBA helped though, Nintendo had the monopoly and third parties didn't mind developing for it.

See, as said, I think third parties hold Nintendo back more than Nintendo itself.

I thought it was a great game because the developers and the game felt like they were having fun. Thus, I had fun. Cool, if weird, graphics and art direction, cool music, I liked the combat system and didn't think it got old... The city got a little dull, but you can always liven it up by killing a pizza guy... Good voice acting...

Yes, though, there were tons of flaws. Insanely bad framerate, off and on gameplay, repetitive one-liners, etc. I'd more likely give it an 8.5 or 8 though, not a 9 by any stretch. Especially when you consider what they gave Twilight Princess and Prime 3.

Plus, I laughed a ton. Again, the best part about it was that it had fun being itself, so I liked it idk

I hope EA is the publisher, Medal of Honor's online was great. Plus with voice chat, Wi-Fi, LAN, IGN played it and said it was awesome... I'm thinking this game is gonna turn out pretty well

Toon Link's awesome, don't be dissin on him. Now CD-I Link... That's a different story...

Daisy. She's like Peach, except without any vaguely redeeming qualities. And then Slippy. I didn't mind Navi as much as the Twiilght Princess postman but he was kinda funny.

If TV show characters count, then every human character in the Pokemon show.

It's probably the most overrated game I ever played. It has some good aspects but there just so much wrong with the game. How this ever scored higher than Metroid Prime 3 on Gamespot I'll never understand. It's pretty fun at times though.

It's almost as if people look past all the flaws just because it has blood and gore. It's sad really...

Jaysonguy

I agree with all of this

I second that. I thought No More Heroes was pretty fun, and I liked the mood in the game, it just seemed to like being itself. But yeah, I have no idea how it scored a 9, Prime 3 scored below a 9.5, and Galaxy didn't get a 10, but that's just me :)

[QUOTE="famicommander"]So a game that doesn't live up to five of the greatest games of all time is instantly bad? Seriously, which games ARE as good as Sonic 1-3, Sonic and Knuckles, and Sonic CD? I judge each game based on its own merits. NSMB and Yoshi's Island DS aren't as good as SMB 3 and SMW. Does that make them bad games?famicommander

I'm not saying they have to be as good. But they should at least live up to the Sonic name. Many of the new Sonic games are embarrasments to the franchise. And as I've said, Sonic games have been consistently getting worse over the years. Sega just keeps milking the franchise. Just look at all the Sonic games that have came out recently. And now there are 2 more console games coming in the next year. I wish they would just take some time and get it right for once.

Compare that to franchises like Zelda or Mario which have released consistently good games

Most of these Sonic games are coming from separate teams. Riders comes from UGA, Rush comes from Dimps, Rivals comes from Backbone, and Secret Rings, Unleashed, and Black Knight are coming from Sonic Team Japan (which is a gigantic studio with more than one internal team). And as I said, Sonic Riders 2 and Sonic '06 being crappy doesn't subtract from the quality of Sonic Rush Adventure or Sonic and the Secret Rings. Bad games do not cancel out good ones.

Go Sonic Team Japan :)

Capcom 'downgraded' Resident Evil 4 for the 'technically inferior', and bestselling, PS2.

Wii is 'technically inferior.'

Wii has sold more than the 360 and PS3 combined this year.

Hmm.

Galaxy uses like four buttons, appeals to everyone, and Gamespot, the 'hardcore' crowd, voted it Game of the Year. I'm not complaining.

Nintendo's not the one to blame, it's third parties, who are just now catching on. One company can't run a console if you want a fantastic game every month. Hence, Gamecube, which third parties ditched.

Want the goods? Wait for Nintendo to make another twenty, or look toward Capcom, EA, Sega, High Voltage, hopefully Activision, and not Ubisoft.
