Sony has been trying to play catch-up since the mistakes its made as of late. Microsoft on the other hand has become comfortable and has some breathing room to take risks. When Microsoft adjusts some critical features of its upcoming product, it has nothing to do with customer loyalty but with moving as many units when the big day comes. Sony and Microsoft don't want to play the catch-up game when one console takes the market by storm.
