People ranting about the gameplay - nothing has changed. All the silly issues with 18 are still there in 19.

Seems PES is becoming another cut'n'shut franchise like CoD - each year it just get's a new spray of paint and some small gameplay tweaks (but the glaring problems plaguing the franchise are still there!) and everyone seems happy, tbh those small changes could easily have been a patch for 18.

The game feels old and tired, same old patterns of play, same old AI restrictions, same old AI (scripting) interference on controls - the game used to be clean and precise now it's just a mess, but no doubt the kids (I suspect the same people who buy COD every year with their eyes closed) will love it and try to tell you that the gameplay is slicker than ever, or more realistic - if anything the game is going backwards. Options are more limited and the same old patterns quickly emerge.

Konami used take the development of this game seriously but now and I suppose it makes more business sense, they're just following every other franchise.

Underneath it all I can't believe how limited the play has become and how interfering the AI is - I'm tired of my players suddenly doing things at half speed or automated touches that I had not implemented, tired of tricks meaning nothing, tired of there being no inertia, no realism - yes it looks real but it plays more stiff and robotic than ever before.

Given how many chances Konami have had to make PES great...

6/10 - poor effort

Refund inc.

LOVE THE REVIEWS FROM THESE SITES .... THEY JUST COPY N PASTE THE SAME SCORES FROM LAST YEAR SO OF COURSE THATS ANOTHER 9/10 - you have to ask yourself do they even play the game or just cash the cheques from Konami?

I enjoyed reading your review, well written.

Ironically, the gameplay problems that you highlighted with FIFA are the exact same issues in PES. It's as though the two companies are becoming like Supermarket chains in that they want to do what the other is doing so much that they end up becoming the same.

Every game you play in MyClub (a game mode in PES where you start from scratch and create your own custom team to play off or online - you are normally given one 'Top' player as a starting reward, enter Neymar) is against Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid or Manchester United and this is Vs. the comp! And you guessed it every one of those teams will have a collection our Hollywood *cough* I mean Champion's League A-listers, so in a typical match expect to see against Messi, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo, Aguero, Neymar et al appear in the same team! Over and over again but what's worse is that it is the same 4 teams over and over, oh the joy! It's like Konami have been paid *cough* NEVER! by certain teams to endorse their products *cough* I mean players.

Also, in line with FIFA is MyClub coins so you don't have to grind your way through the early nonsense and can just buy your dream team for the cost of a Premier division football jersey. It's a joke and it's very apparent that considering how close everything is in both games this was no accident, micro transactions and grinding are a current trend in games, we can thank the business-minded folk over at Blizzard Entertainment for that one, and the sporting world is no different. Now just try and convince the majority of people playing that 'scripting' exists. It's rather futile. It's as though they're all playing with their eyes closed, rather maddeningly so much that I'm tempted to conform but luckily I have a stronger constitution than that so I think I'll be holding out for the next installation, though I won't hold my breath.

On the whole, I feel more and more that current sports games are being made solely for stupid people, and kids, I guess that's a bit like every other commercial product! But why do I say this? Well it's quite simple, only that target demographic could possibly suck this trash up and with endure it with noticeable enjoyment.

I just don't like the shooting and clunky manner of movements. Why do Ubi love making shooters so stupidly arcade-like? Why make a "real world" and try to make things "realistic" only to let yourself down on the shooting mechanics. I have shot people over and over on the head and they simply don't die, same with animals it just all becomes a tad silly and in the end it really killed the game for me.

Sure flying around and jumping off cliffs is great but when it takes 20 rounds to kill a dog I think "nah this is for kids" and shelve it, which I've done.

The game is for the younger generation of gamers, who I'm sure love it. But for me I want something a bit more realistic in the shooting department and one more thing, why no rag-doll physics? The dying animations and cartoon blood are just so stupid. Personally, I want something a bit more grown up - having a (yawn) psycho running around with a pink suit on and crap quiff is (yawn) all very well but when it takes 20 shots to kill a dog it all becomes a little laughable - sometimes I feel that standing outside a base with a stick and pretending it is a gun pointing it at guards and making machine-gun noises is more effective than the real thing.

Older peeps like me = 6/10

Younger peeps = 8/10

The initial part of the review was supposed to be brief. However, I have had time to play the game further. Myself and friends played it for around 6-8 hours at various times yesterday and my verdict still stands, the PC version is not good. Similar to 14, there are moments of greatness but they are too few and the gameplay does not feel fluid nor do I feel in control, the weight of the players feels wrong, the ball physics is utterly inconsistent, at least in 14 it felt like you were kicking a ball around - when I play I do not feel immersed. The realism is simply not there.

At this point I'm actually rather fed up at how many times both companies have gotten it wrong. But I have been playing PES since 1995 (ISS deluxe), not many players can say that, so I have a soft spot for Konami, but still I feel they keep feeding us rehashed versions of the same game, it feels as though they just keep missing the point and then trying to cover over it with clever marketing ideas "The pitch is ours" etc. Or making claims that they have somehow 'put it right' with the next upcoming instalment. The reality is PES 2015 houses the same problems and same lack of intuitive development that all the previous versions did, there is nothing here that is new there is nothing here that challenges or empowers the user. It still feels like wooden dummies moving and kicking the ball around in an extremely dull and linear fashion. It's like PES 2008, minus the playability.

Looking around at the comments and reviews, I must mention that I am talking about the PC version, a lot are very positive so I say two things 1). That's either, the current state of the Gaming industry today (that being you can't actually get an honest review from a big title release), or 2). This is what people actually like these days, which if is the case then I believe standards overall have dropped, and if so then good luck to them. But to respond to your obvious fanboy (the irony being you've probably only started playing PES since 2010) comment, no I won't be playing FIFA.

No sorry it's not a return to this.... or that...

It's just bad, really bad - ok I think we can agree that PES 14 got it wrong on so many levels but at least there is an argument to suggest that there was something new, something to build on. Sadly however, PES 15 is just a big leap back.

After playing for 20 mins this is a quick review:

The animations are wooden and completely unrealistic, players have to actually micro-stop before turning, it is awful to look at.

The passing, supposedly revamped? Through lob goes straight up in the air like a balloon (every time - it has no low arc), the low passes are either straight to the player to just in front, doesn't matter which pass you execute, through-ball or normal they both do the same thing. The shooting, has no weight to it (a homage to the days of Playstation PES?), and the actual player responsiveness is shocking, change cursor (like PES versions 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13 and 14), when playing defensively, seems to do nothing until the last third.

Seriously? Take back the pitch?

This is a joke - add to that the team kits and names are all wrong and we have another farce on our hands.

I look around at the reviews and I only see positive - come round to my house and play this game and you'll will see something completely different from what is being written.

I have been playing PES since Deluxe, and can firmly state the wheels have come off.

6/10

A genuine opportunity to put things right, instead it feels like something put together as part of a school project.

Played for a short while, but found the combat and animations to be too wooden and uninspiring. That and the fact that I've done/served my 400+ hours in Diablo II means I cannot go back there unless I am seduced by something utterly spectacular and, regrettably, there was nothing even remotely spectacular about this game, sorry.

In this day and age, and given the fact it is free I would rate this game...
