It was just annoying to tune into a Gaming podcast and hear political talk. It was just too out of place for me. It's like turning on ESPN and seeing a cooking show. It didn't fit. A little discussion of Obama's in game campaign adds would've been fine, but it went too far beyond that and went on for way too long. Again, I'm not hating on their views, I'm used to hearing that my views and those of the medias don't usually coincide, but I just don't think it was the right venue for the discussion.

I will start this post by saying, I'm sure this is exactly what the HotSpot crew wanted from their latest podcast, but I need to comment anyway. As a long time GameSpot member and HotSpot listener I was really put off by this weeks show. I listen to gaming podcasts to hear gaming discussion, not political discussion. The fact that I disagree with the obvious leanings of the crew, which to their credit, they acknowledged themselves, has little to do with it. I just want to know why everyone has decided that it is their public duty to speak out on this election and constantly feel the need to extoll everyone to vote. The crews point that you should suck it up and listen to their take on the election smacks of egotism. I don't need anyone to remind me to vote. I've voted in every election I've been legally able to since I turned 18. I don't need to be told to research the candidates pasts. I do that all on my own.

All I'm saying is that in a presidential election year, the last place I want to turn to for political analysis is a gaming podcast. More than a few gaming podcasts have dipped their toes into the political waters lately, usually with some stale Sarah Palin joke. Aside from the lack of actually being funny, that I can handle. However dedicating so much time to the election is somewhat unprecedented and in my opinion, unwelcome. In short, I listen to gaming podcasts for talk about gaming, and maybe some silly stories from the hosts life at work in the gaming press. That's it. I was wondering if I was all alone in this opinion.

Why not just use the ds as your drawing board and the Wii as your way to handle the animations/effects?

I attempted to start a thread about speculation on when we would see info about Spore for the Wii. It would seem that no one knows anything or wishes to even share a tiny little thought on the subject as both responses have been lacking in content.. I do apologize for my nasty response to the first responder who offered such helpful advice. I'm just sick of actually trying to have a normal conversation on these boards and seeing nothing but brain draining stupidity. Anyway, as a great man once said, "Have a nice day!"

Anyone have any guesses on when we'll finally hear or see something new about spore on the Wii? EA said it was coming after the pc version. The question is how long after?

I've wanted this game since the first glimpses at E3 for the Wii's launch and now after one time hearing the announcer say "Distastaaa" I MUST OWN IT!

Lock's Quest looks awesome!I'm getting it today! I'm also looking forward to Moon, Disgaea and too many others to name. The DS truly has the most diverse game library out there.

If you're worried about what other people will say about what game you're playing, don't. If you like it play it. I'm a 33 year old father who owns Pokemon Pearl for DS. I also dance in the aisle at Toys R us if my 2 year old daughter wants to dance to some singing toy she finds. Some people look. Most just smile. The one who don't? That's their problem. People need to stop worrying about what others think. I know it's hard. We all get self conscious at times, but if you don't do something you enjoy because of other people, you're just costing yourself the chance to have fun.

Hey guys,I don't know how many of you have heard of Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom, but it's closing after three years. VMK is a free web based MMO run by Disney and now everyone is going to lose all their hard earned items, avatars, rooms, etc. The shutdown is may 21st. I'm trying to help the fight to save it and any help from fellow gamespotters would be awesome. You can go to www.savevmk.com and sign the petition or for more info,I've been blogging about it here on gamespot. Thanks for any help guys.
