As an Android user, I disagree with this suggestion. I think it should be renamed "Mobile Channel".The-Apostle

As an Android user, you should be satisfied that you already have a channel called "Android." To do as you have suggested would be like combining the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii channels into one channel called "Console Game Channel."

iOS and Android are two very different beasts.

Pity that there has yet to be any official editorial acknowledgement here.

The staff have a lot on their plates and you can't expect them to read through every thread posted here very quickly. If the thread gets enough support then it's bound to come across their attention and then they will tell us whether they think it's a good idea or not.

It was an attempt to re-open discussion a little more gracefully than replying "bump."

Attn GS Editors and relevent decision makers: So as to properly capture and accurately represent the iOS community, would it be appropriate to change the naming convention of the "iPhone" channel to the "iOS" channel? Adopting this change would effectively alleviate any alienation of the iPad and iPod touch community and could possibly work towards capturing new readership from these submarkets. Thanks!

I'm sorry, I do have one additional question... is there any way to retrieve a cached copy of my original post? The Topic was named "Mass Effect 3 Wish List." If at all possible, I'd like to retain the text for use in my blog. Thanks again.

Interesting. I can't understand why my post would have been moderated, though. In my opinion, it was a very well thought out post that mimicked the editorial features found here on Gamespot. It was certainly free of any semblance of immaturity so often found on these boards. In fact, that's the only reason with which I'm even taking pause - it took me a good while to think through and eventually articulate! Nevertheless, thank you for your explaination. I suppose I'll think twice about posting in the future.

Greetings. It seems that I have consistently been plauged with a pair of issues on the boards: 1) Posts not being listed in the "My Posting History" of my user profile, and; 2) Posts dissapearing completely from the topic listings.

For example, on the Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360) boards, I posted the following topic: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/masseffect2workingtitle/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-53611770&pid=944907&page=0

The topic has since dissapeared from the topic listing and it is also not being listed in "My Posting History." Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Thanks.

@RipaX21 and James161324: Thanks a bunch for your input.

I'll definitely try switching to another 10/100 port on my router to see if that helps.

Last night I went into my WRT54G's set-up to see if I could fine-tune any settings and I made a few tweaks here and there. I even went as far as no longer broadcasting my SSID just in case the back-and-forth pinging (minuscule that it is) was affecting bandwidth. One thing I will do tonight is update my router's firmware to see if that helps. It's also worth mentioning that when I game over XBL, I make sure to power-down every other network peripheral in my house to ensure maximum bandwidth.

After no improvement, I bypassed the router altogether and plugged directly into my cable modem. After a full power cycle (both the Xbox 360 and the Cable Modem) I was up and running. While lag improved a little (e.g. I was no longer getting lagged out completely), I was still experiencing a tremendous amount of in-game lag (e.g. hopping all over the map and having little to no control over my character).

Was has me particularly confused is that I've very, very rarely experienced lag when playing on XBL over the years (primarily CoD4:MW, CoD:WaW, GoW and GoW2)... moreover, MW2 was running fine in the first few days following MW2 launch.

With respect to playing MW2 Multiplayer and SpecOps...

Lately, I've been experiencing multiplayer lag that's so bad that I often find myself booted from matches or I get stuck in a situation where I have to leave games because matches are utterly unplayable (jumping all over the map with no control of my character).

There are two schools of though here: 1) millions of MW2 players are slowing down gameplay and this will eventually pass in time, or; 2) my ISP (Comcast, Washington DC) and/or network hardware set-up is to blame.

Assuming the latter to be the culprit, I contacted Comcast (Washington, DC) to see what was going on from there end (if anything). They reported no issues from their end and told me that my download/upload speeds should be around 13Mb/3Mb per second, respectively. After running my own speed scans (speedtest.net), I was consistently getting from 11Mb/2Mb and 13Mb/3mb, download/upload so what Comcast was telling me was consistent with reality.

Right now, my Xbox 360 is plugged directly into into my Linksys WRTG5 series Wireless G router (via RJ45), which is plugged into my Motorola Surfboard (Docsis 1.0/2.0) cable modem (via RJ45) which is plugged to the cable outlet (via coax).

My question to you folks: Will my lag issues improve any if I upgrade to a new (Linksys) Gigabit router and a (Motorola) Docsis 3.0 cable modem? I understand that the ultimate condition is whether or not Comcast (Washington, DC) is offering Docsis 3.0 ****broadband, but I also understand that my current gear is somewhat dated. I'm looking to you folks for advice seeing as how the upgrade I just proposed isn't exactly the cheapest solution in the world.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My recent posting history seems to be deleting itself after 24 hours. Oddly, this only affects recent history - very old posting history is retained. Any idea what's going on here?
