[QUOTE="Andrew_Xavier"]I've played sales many times,
in roller coaster tycoon, you need sales to keep your park running you now?
In, well, any tycoon game, sales are a huge part of it, so, you play them :D
sexy_chimp

Where's Rollercoaster Tycoon 4? :'(

RCT3 won't work for me anymore and RCT2's disc is completely destroyed. =[

It doesn't matter as RCT1 was the only good one in the series.

List of (good) RPGs on DS, currently and rest of '08:

  • Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
  • Contact
  • Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales
  • Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
  • Etrian Odyssey
  • Rune Factory
  • Rune Factory 2
  • Luminous Arc (yes, it's good)
  • ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat
  • Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
  • Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
  • Tales of Innocence
  • Soma Bringer
  • The World Ends With You
  • Luminous Arc 2
  • Etrian Odyssey II
  • --------------------------
  • Inazuma Eleven
  • Dragon Quest IX
  • Sonic Chronicles
  • Valkyrie Profile
  • Sigma Harmonics
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days
  • Pokemon Platinum

JLF1

It's still not comparable to the PS2 in quality or quantity.

Etrian oddysey II, Rune Factory 2 and ASH does not even have a US release date yet.

Contact? that game has a 6.7 here on gamespot and don't deserve better and Luminous Arc is a very shallow RPG IMO.

You listed the Dragon Quest remakes and FFIV, so I assumed it was okay.

In threads like these, I always like to keep tabs of how many people will say, I'm xgoing on x. Young people often like to make themselves seem older by rounding up, even if their next birthday is half a year away, while older people never round up - and are more likely to make a point of pointing out how old they are, so no one else can do it for them.

People are fun.

I'm 23, by the way.

madgamer544

Very good observation, im 16 going on 21 in ohh about 52 months!

So after reading all these pointless arguments about how Nintendo isn't actually crushing Sony and Microsoft because of, oh noes, the casuals! I've come to this conclusion about the whole system wars thing, no matter what, Nintendo can not get a legit win in any way, shape, or form (at least over Sony). It doesn't matter how many times Nintendo comes out on top of Sony, how much better their hardware and software sell, nevermind the fact that Mario Kart Wii outsold GTA IV in April, how the DS completely blew teh PSP out of the water, Nintendo can't win. If its not one thing, its another. Sure its selling amazingly in every way, but it still sucks and only bad games are selling! Yet if you actually look at the numbers and for the last damn time WII SPORTS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS 18 MONTH COUNT, you'll see its a number of great games that have sold really really well for Nintendo and not shovelware.

Speaking of shovelware I think it all boils down to this when it comes to hating on a console for shovelware. Even if the only reason Nintendo is on top since its launch is because of shovelware, the only reason people are hating on it is because the shovelware on their consoles aren't selling nearly as well. If the crap games on the 360 or PS3 were selling amazingly, you wouldn't here a single complaint from whatever company (and its army of disilluisonal fanboys) whining at all about it. You would never hear the end of it, because to them its a legit win, but if its comes from Nintendo, simply because they came out and said they were advertising and attempting to draw in a more casual crowd, they are completely incapable of winning this generation. Nevermind the fact that Sony has its EyeToy gimmick, or Sing Star, or the Eye of Judgement, the sixaxis controller, Home, Buzz!, and so many other things. Sony never said they were trying to appeal to the casual crowd so if any of those things sold well and gave them the success Nintendo is currently enjoying that would just be further ownage on Nintendo and its fans because they were beaten by such pointless things. Oh yes, I almost spaced this one out as well, if putting a BluRay player in the PS3 and then making it the cheapest BluRay player on the market isn't trying to appeal to anyone (mostly casual people who would never try games but want HD movies) and doesn't make Sony casual, then I don't think the Wii qualifies as casual either, since that is strictly a gaming device and anyone who purchases a Wii is going to be doing one thing with it... GAMING.

So when I look at these figures Nintendo has shown off, when I see the monthly sales charts and still see Nintendo topping everything while Sony and Microsoft continue to make excuses for their medicore sales, all I am gonna say is this, Nintendo has hands down won this generation now. With no signs of this momentum slowing down at all in the near future, it would take a miracle for Sony and Microsoft to catch up. In every aspect Nintendo has dominated the market with their brillant ideas and all of it is paying off, Nintendo has made next to no mistakes this generation (anyone who says that hte graphics abilities and ect is a mistake needs to seriously take a look at what makes a great fun game) and the cows and lemming (god I hate using those terms) are merely upset and jealous that neither of their companies came up with this idea first. And next generation, when Sony and Microsoft both make a big move into the casual gaming market (as if Sony couldn't get anymore casual) and start "borrow" ideas from Nintendo, I'm going to laugh because they'll be behind the curve and whatever Nintendo comes up with next will blow them out of the water.

So in closing, please stop this senseless fighting, quitting making up excuses trying to make it out to seem like Nintendo isn't doing as great as they are, its over. Nintendo has won. Sony and Microsoft can fight it out for second place, but Nintendo, with their kiddy toy and shovelware console, crushed the awesome might of the 360 and the even mightier PS3 with its BluRay player, cell powered, 4D super computer, with nothing more than a gimmick and a fad. Or would you rather say, Sony and Microsoft were beaten by Nintendo's better, though simplier idea of gaming, and they came out with a better console and just porved you don't need power to have fun, they were beaten on an even ground, and hopefully next generation Sony and Microsoft will both learn from their mistakes and the industry will continue to grow even more. I'd pick the second one myself, since I'd much rather say I lost in a fair fight than I had my ass handed to me by a bunch of kids and a few elderly people. Maybe its time to save face and face the facts?

kejigoto

Wow, ownage packaged and delivered.

I'm not on here very often, but these "lemmings" and "cows" are kidding themselves.

there's a new Tales game coming fom Team Destiny and Infinite Line sounds like the best game ever

DS is the new king of RPGs

vicmackey39

It won't be localized into English though, and that's kind of sad. Tales of Innocence was amazing (though avoid Tales of the Tempest). Can't wait for Valkyrie Profile neither.

The problem is that most of them are either ports or remakes.JLF1

Uhm, what? Maybe all the popular ones (FF3, DQIV etc.), but the most original ones (Soma Bringer, TWEWY) are still plentiful.
