I actually have OCD and have the tendencies of selling my stuff, so I've sold 100+ games throughout my life. I just can't control it. The cure for it was the rise in digital distribution. Now I buy all my games digitally and don't have to worry about my obsession.

There are a lot of skeptics in this thread, which is why it's getting a somewhat bewildering negative response, despite the fact that no one appears to have even experienced it first hand. Skeptics only are converted once physical evidence is given to them and so until the they actually experience the Rift for themselves, this thread holds very little persuasion value.

Tekken 3. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and the pinnacle of the series for me. Since then it has been okay, just okay.

You can't compare the scores those games are given with AAA games. It's not even remotely close. No, I do not think they're overrated, in fact they're underrated. They should be dominating the market because those games usually have a lot more creativity and innovation that big budget games which for the most part are being a bit of a rehash. This trend will not go away, and in fact is growing. This is great for our industry, because it's expanding the market in ways not possible before. Alright, so maybe you're more into high production values and the technical aspect of games, while others might look for more creativity in their video games. Two different markets.

Video game based movies could work, but Hollywood needs to make some large adjustments. They could have easily made a fantastic Resident evil movie, but just look at the direction they took. Imagine a superb director, screenwriter and talent attached to the project, things would have been a lot more different.

CD Project Red. I adored the first two witcher games, some of my favorite rpg's of all time.

I'm not really a fan of Bethesda, to be honest. For some reason I can't get into their rpg's, but I know why. I'm not really into open world rpg's with minimal story. Though, farther than that I simply don't like the way their games are designed.

Square Enix, well, not sure if it's fair. This generation they haven't been good with their rpg's, I'm not sure which was the last one I loved. Probably final fantasy 12,

I got it approved in less than 3 weeks, though I've actually never used it.

My personal pick has to be Resident Evil 4. I wasn't really looking forward to the game, because I had lost interest in the series after the Resident Evil 2 and yet this game simply blew me away. It's really odd that it came so early in 2005, but it was unforgettable even at years end.

What people fail to understand is that reviews are opinions. Of course someones personal beliefs are going to affect their stance on the game, just as if you don't like a particular game element that might seem inane for you, others might feel the opposite toward such. I actually like Gamespot. You never know what score a game will get which makes it so unpredictable. Other places on the other hand, especially IGN you can tell when a game is going to score a 9. I feel like their system is less on personal opinions, and more on what will make people happy. In gamespot however since the reviewers don't really care, they seem to be highly criticized. I actually wish more places were like Gamespot, it's really annoying that virtually every game gets the same score by virtually 90% of game critics. That rarely happens in other mediums.

The funny thing is when people actually get angry over a review score. I mean, surely there are more important things, right? I couldn't believe some even ended up personally attacking Carolyn for her GTA review.

True, they are opinions, but they get paid for their opinions

They're lucky, then.

I got angry because she took her bias views with a political motivation, which she clearly has shown she has and put it in the review

You got angry at that? It is her opinion, she didn't like the fact that it was misogynist, so she made it clear. The game still got a superb score, much more than I would have given it.
