@Ultimate_Noob I'm sure there will be some form of a Q&A process for player created content before it makes it into the game. As long as enforce a standard it should be fine.
@M3o5nster @servb0ts I think balance will become a lot less important, as it should. If one class set up is more powerful than another, so be it, what's the big deal. If anything that will add replay value. A lot of players just want their own unique character, despite whether or not it's the most powerful. I'm not saying balance shouldn't be considered, it just shouldn't be priority. If you make an MMO that doesn't demand near perfect balance, you've truly succeeded. I'm sure there will be more than enough competitive class combos for the min\max players.
@Zabu2 @CombatIT @darksidecelica @EdAl2112 How is it not worth mentioning? Sony and Microsoft aren't the ones making the games, what they receive for online fees by the consumer is irrelevant. Surely there is a fee just to have a game available for download through somebody else's internet service. Would they save money to go strictly or mostly with digital downloads? Probably, but as of right now, they're still spending the money for physical copies as well, so I don't see the prices dropping.
I don't have all the numbers to look at, but I would venture to say that at this point, taking a break from CoD development and getting off this yearly cycle will ultimately be more profitable for the franchise. They're going to end up running this thing into the ground unnecessarily.
God I hate Call of Duty, but not because they are bad games. They've effectively monopolized the FPS genre. Having this conversation about "peacefully coexisting" is proof of it.
