[QUOTE="CocopuffsGM"]

Your WRPG generalization was worse. It's funny because one of the reason I like WRPGs better than JRPGs is because they are not all the same.

JRPG story:
Some kid is destined to do something important/ has special powers.
World(s) are in danger.
One evil entity is in charge of it all.

And your forgetting, the best video game story is in a WRPG (Planescape: Torment, most who played would agree). And by the way, dragons are more of a JRPG thing. I think you just owned yourself with that entire post.

(Oh, And most the things princeofshapeir are also true. Not always a bad thing, some JRPGs are still fun.)Gunraidan

And with JRPGs it's always some 15 yr old boy, or a group of 15 yr old kids out to save the world from the evil_____.

farrell2k

See and people wonder why most JRPG fans hate Square-Enix, because you get retarded generalazations like this.

Fight fire with fire. The was my counter generalization. Course there are exceptions, and I admit that I haven't played many JRPGs. But I've played what most people agree are the best ones (Crono series, FF series, "Tales of" series, Secret of Mana, Dragon Warior, still haven't gotten around to Phantasy Star I+II). Yeah, I like old school games.

[QUOTE="DeathScape666"]Nintendo is a Japanese company; not an Asian company. Also, that doesn't mean they hate them. So you are basically saying that the only people Nintendo likes are overweight plumber brothers and deformed turtles that can somehow breath fire?DeathScape666

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought Japan was in Asia. What's that? Is this a quote worth putting into a sig?

Also, quit taking my topic title seriously, and quit taking my topic seriously.

No need to get pissed. But if it wasn't meant to be taken seriously, then why they hell did you make it?

Asia is a continent. ****.

Quit taking me seriously. =P I'm not pissed, and I don't dislike you at all. Just made me luagh, I've said way stupider crap than that:
"It's better to keep your mouth shut, and be thought of as a fool, then open it and remove all dought"
This is just a thing to talk about because it's something to talk about. Not some deep analysis of human psyche. Not everything on this site has to be serious.

So what? Ubisoft (France) bases their Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six off American characters/agencies. Crytec (Germany) made Far Cry a game based around an ex Marine and they're currently is making a game off an American solider in the future. Relic (Canada) made Company of Heroes, whose campaign mode was only playable as Americans...thirstychainsaw
Course it's no big deal. I'm just getting tired as playing as a white guy all the time. Not enough games have different races as their main character.

I'm sorta asian and I don't hate myself. Asian pride :D

Nuff said.

gamah_killah

No, I'm pretty sure you hate yourself, I mean, I did write it in my topic title.
I wish people didn't take me so seriously.

Anyone notice how in all the Asian cartoons/movies they make the characters seem white (other than where they live)? Almost every major character (cartoon/video games) that comes from Asia is not Asian. Nintendo's mascot is a freaking overweight Italian.

Me no understand...

EDIT: Changed the topic title from "Why do Asians hate Asians", because people were arguing with me about that. Of course I don't think that, silly.

fact no one pointed out WOW,Guild wars story are irrelavent to the lvling/grinding/meating people. JRPG's are 1 player games, no western RPG can touch a good JRPG' cause a good JRPG is like reading a book(we'll till they added voice acting wich messes it up. you buy a game like WOW for it's online mode and all that no one i ever went to Onyxia with cared about why we had to kill her. but how many people know Aerith died in FF7?

Why do people assume WRPGs = MMORPGs? Your forgetting games like Planescape: Torment, Fallout, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Fable, BioShock etc etc.

The main difference between the two is I would say, WRPGs generally give you more options, have more open ended stories with usually multiple endings, and more adult oriented stories. JRPGs usually have linear stories, and appeal more to younger gamers, and they don't usually give you many dialogue options.
