@col2774 Nowhere did they mention taking any inspiration from Skyrim. They just said it would be a bigger game than Skyrim.

This is a pretty lame interview to be honest. The corespondent obviously was asking only 'safe' questions as not to offend Mike. And Mike himself was only giving completely standard answers to the safe questions. If you have a fair bit of common sense you won't learn a single thing about the development or future of Dragon Age from this. All the questions are basically; Q: Why did you do X? A: We believe it's a good change, but understand why some fans would be surprised by it. I know it's hard to ask hard hitting questions to a company that gives you so much money in advertising, but this is pretty pointless. I'm curious to hear how much EA's influence changed the game, why the graphics and environments (and the game as a whole) seem to have a lot less effort put into it. I want to hear Bioware's final answer to all the criticism; either "We're sorry for offending our old fans, we'll listen to you next time." or "Screw you this is how we want to make our game now."
