Anyone who loves a great sci fi film like Event Horizon should try System Shock games. Looking forward to this one. They're going in the right direction so far.

Cool. I really enjoy the Torchlight games but I’ll have to wait until the console version comes out. Hopefully it won’t be too long of a wait.

Love em. First one was pretty decent. Second one was masterful.

I never played the Torchlight games, but I just recently finished Hob which is a metroidvania style game also from Runic Games. I found it to be really good. So, I'd imagine the Torchlight games are also pretty good. Shame that the studio was shutdown. Not quite sure what was worked out with Echtra Games and Perfect World in regards to keeping as many of the original team as possible.

TL2 is pretty epic. First one takes place in mine. You go deeper as you level up. Second game is kinda like open world. The world is quite big and exploration is fun. There are variety of different environments, from forests to deserts, caves etc

Torchlight 2 known for its unique art style was near perfect Diablo 2 successor and an amazing ARPG and Dungeon Crawler. Today Perfect World Entertainment and Echtra Games announced today that Torchlight Frontiers will launch as Torchlight III on Steam this Summer. Furthermore, its closed alpha testing will begin on January 29th. The game will also return to the premium model adapted by Torchlight I and II. Moreover, it will now focus on linear progression.

As the press release reads, this fast-paced dungeon crawler brings ARPG fans back to the Torchlight. The game will feature a vibrant world filled with hordes of creatures waiting at every turn.

Max Schaefer, CEO of Echtra Games and co-founder of the Torchlight franchise, said:

“When we started developing Torchlight Frontiers, we were focused on creating a shared-world experience. During development, you often discover what type of product a game was meant to be and we found Torchlight Frontiers was meant to be a true successor to Torchlight I & II. Based on this and extensive feedback from our Alpha testers, we decided it was time to take the game back to its roots and model it after the classic Torchlight games that ARPG fans have come to love. We’d like to thank our dedicated player base for supporting us and providing such insightful feedback during early development.”

When Torchlight III releases on Steam this summer, players will be able to purchase the full game and play however they like with access to all playable content. The game will feature both offline and online modes. Rather than focusing on horizontal progression, the game shifts back to the familiar linear world structure that was introduced with Torchlight I & II. Additionally, the game features the same mechanics that set the original series apart from other ARPGs on the market. After selecting from Torchlight III’s unique character classes, players will choose a pet to accompany them on their new adventure. These pets are: a fluffy alpaca, a swift owl or a loyal canine retriever. From there, they will explore forests filled with dangerous creatures and participate in thematic quests to earn powerful rewards.

Here are the game’s key features:

  • Travel the Frontier. Players can explore the wilderness, party with friends, gather materials to craft loot, use magical maps to enter unknown dungeons, or show off their spoils in town! There’s always something to do in the new frontier.
  • Build & Upgrade Your Fort. It’s time to rebuild! Players will enjoy their very own account-based fort. There, they can upgrade gear, and make renovations to show it off to their friends and the world. The game allows them to build monuments of power, pet stables, and more!
  • Choose a Relic. Relics are objects of great power that grant players a suite of active skills and passive skills. Players can craft them, level them up and store them in their fort. The relic is an important part of a character’s strategy – choose wisely!
  • Collect Epic Gear. Whether it’s armor, weapons, dyes, recipes, ember cores, or even new pets… there’s always more to find as adventurers battle through dungeons and take on dangerous foes. Every randomly-generated area can be replayed over and over again since each instance brings different items. Those who want even more epic gear can run maps from the Mapworks. That, or they can take on a contract to earn Fame and unlock elite items.
  • Pets are Back. Players can fight their way to fame and glory with loyal companions! Each of the many species comes in a myriad of colors and styles. They can also make these pets stronger by adding skills, equip them with gear to make them hardier, and together battle enemies as a team.
  • Build Your Hero. With four classes to choose from, players can utilize class-specific mechanics to maximize damage and their odds of survival. Torchlight III lets them gather epic gear, select your Relic powers, and customize loadouts to create a unique combat style for their heroes.

If it helps PC version's optimization too then I don't mind it, even though delay kinda sucks. On other hand I always expected it to get delayed like Witcher 3. Here is hoping that optimization won't come at the cost of downgrade. From what I expect, they delayed it because they need more time to optimize their streaming tech. They improved it a lot in Blood and Wine expansion and reduced stuttering in populated cities and it also allowed them to crank up draw distance further. CP2077 takes place within a populated city instead of city being just a part of bigger world populated with dense forests like Witcher 3, which means they require much better streaming than Witcher 3 to make it run on current hardware especially on Consoles or mid range PCs especially the ones that lack SSDs or don't have extremely powerful GPUs to load textures without lag or stuttering.

  • The Witcher 3
  • Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void
  • Jedi Fallen Order
  • Titanfall 2
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of War
  • Warhammer 2
  • Uncharted 4
  • Resident Evil 7
  • Alien Isolation
  • Divinity: Original Sin 2
  • The Evil Within 2
  • Control

Plenty of good and memorable stuff came out this gen.

Among these games Witcher 3, Starcraft 2 LOTV and Isolation stuck with me the most. One of the best RPGs, strategy and horror games ever.

Honorable mention A: Shadow of war. Maaaan that ending. So memorable and a great game overall.

Honorable mention B: The Evil Within 2. So much better than the first one. Immersive atmosphere and great stealth based, sandbox horror.

It's amazing how a computer RPG series became such a hot topic of debate around the globe. Thanks to original Witcher that popularized the books, then Witcher 2 and 3 boosted the popularity of the franchise further, inspiring Lauren Hissrich and Henry Cavill (long time fan of the series and dedicated PC gamer) to collaborate under Netflix to create a series that soon became new hot favorite among old and new fans alike which ended up dethroning The Mandalorian as the most in demand show of the world.

Then you have Rotten Tomatoes score nearing 70% (certified fresh) despite having complicated first season (introduction) which was hard for many to understand, which is extremely impressive and it set a strong foundation for upcoming more linear seasons. What makes it more impressive is how some edgy reviews in early days tried their best to bring down the score without even watching the show and they openly admitted it.

Then you have imdb rating in mid 80s (making it strongest and most positive opening of any Netflix original series ever), 95% google rating and 92% user score. Witcher series is new beast in the town, thanks to PC gamers who supported CD Projekt over the years, and kudos to a great talent at the studio (both at CD Projekt and Netflix). And of course congrats to Sapkowski who created such a compelling universe.

Don't know about exclusive but if the Console is supporting third party softwares then in my opinion it's not a Console but a mini PC with controlled environment like Mac for example. Traditional consoles are dying.

We have seen this argument from time to time and consoles will still be around and people can say the same for PC but that too isn't going to die now is it? We have dedicated console gamers who aren't interest in PC gaming and that's why consoles are still here to this day. And this is coming from a PC gamer, even I know console gamers aren't going to flock to PC if ever.

Didn't say Consoles are dying. Read carefully mate. I said traditional consoles are dying. Things have changed a lot. They use PC architecture. Their exclusives are dying. PC is being treated as neutral platform and consoles themselves are becoming more open instead of being closed. Compare that to PS 1 and 2 and you'll see that things have changed a lot. So yes, traditional consoles are dead. They've taken a lot of ques from PC gaming in recent years.

Just when you think that casual4ever would be the only person to come up with dumbshit, you agree with him, but seeing your username i'm not surprised that you would think this way as you're easily duped, so not very bright lol.

Look who's talking. Laughing stock of GS. Lol.

It'll come to PC like the first one, so not "am cry".
