I really enjoyed holding the forward button for 2 hours and beeping at random players that jumped in and out of my games. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

@Slash_out But that sort of casual ambivalence, is that what makes a great MMO community?

@DOW161 That is exactly what has changed in the last ten years: the attention span of the gamer. Before WoW, there were no casual MMO players. Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call, EVE online. These were all "full-time" games. You were either playing one, or you weren't. Thus, these games required a ton of support and updates. The subscription model was a perfect fit to keep players and devs happy. I sincerely doubt that in 2 years, the majority of the GW2 community will be playing 40+ hours a week. Maybe F2P will work here. I just feel like it holds the devs less accountable for helping maintain a balanced, engaging world in which people will continue to want to play. Not to sound completely cliche, but you get what you pay for.

Think about the greatest MMO to combine PvP and PvE:Dark Age of Camelot.Subscription based, constantly balanced and updated, and home to the most mature community ever. Mythic made us more than happy to pay our subscription fees. A Free-to-play model would have destroyed that community.

Wait. What's wrong with the Take Back Earth trailer? Having just played through ME3, I thought the trailer did an awesome job. Hopelessness, Action, even dead children. These were all prevalent elements of the actual game. And there actually was brutal warfare scenes scored over with beautiful songs...in the game. Do your research Ms. Parker.

@Caffeine__Fiend I agree. Oh wait, I thought for a second you were talking about Rockstar Games. So I disagree?
