Unless shipments are cancelled or delayed the preorders cannot fail. Think about it. Each store was a controlled environment. One employee (maybe two and they were probably managers anyway) took the preorders at each store for maybe half an hour. Each store knew exactly how many consoles it was getting. No way in hell could one store have taken more orders than they were supposed to because one person was doing it and it was only for a limited time, one time. It is not like any other system preorders because every other system has had preorders where random people show up on random days at random times and preorder the system from different employees. I do not see how it is possible that they could mess this up. There cannot be any confusion as to how many people ordered the systems, what system they ordered, and in what order they ordered them. Right, it's simple math. If the number of consoles allocated to each store was pre-determined, how can they mess it up? The only way there could be a problem is if the boats shipping the freight sank in the pacific, or burned up in a warehouse fire.
