On average, 1 to 2 hours a day. I play handhelds more than anything else (so 3DS and Switch now), which means I can play during my commutes and breaks at work. If I get really into a game I'm playing, the time will jump up though.

@sonicforces2017: I'm inclined to agree. I'll admit I was surprised at the lack of announcement during the E3 Direct from Nintendo though. I felt so sure that's why they'd held back on announcing it in the first place. If it is being development, it might also not be as far along. That's what I'm going to hope for for the time being anyway.

Sooo many fond memories growing up with Nintendo handhelds. Earliest is getting in trouble with my parents because my brother and I started arguing in a barber shop over which form to evolve Eevee into, and he had the Gameboy color while I was in the chair getting my haircut. I think the barber found the whole thing funny to watch.

Then the GBA Sp in middle School. Still mostly a Pokemon machine, but I was also introduced to Final Fantasy here with the Dawn of Souls, which I would play before school started and between classes.

Then we get to the DS, which is probably my most-used console to date. Introduced me to two of my all-time favorites, The World Ends with You and Chrono Trigger. Still remember beating Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days while spending the night in a hotel room. Speaking of, Hotel Dusk was another favorite to play on long car rides to my grandparents house. When you have an annual 20 hour car ride, portable gaming is king, you know?

This could be a case of them trying to keep the series where the known fanbase is though. Haven't the last several SMT games all released on the 3DS?

Having only played the DS entries so far, I'd heartily recommend number 5. I thought it's story presentation was fairly unique among most JRPGs, and it's the one that drew me in the most. I don't know if this is normal for later titles in the series, but in that game you actually play the protagonist from early childhood to early adulthood. Give it a shot!

The size is great. I have yet to actually play on the TV because I've gotten so comfortable using it in handheld mode, and I never get uncomfortable or cramped playing it.

Yep, never finished that one either. Spent nearly a hundred hours playing it, working my way through the Colosseum, and doing... maybe 3 mainline quests? Totally worth it though.

Just finished Donkey Kong Country 2 for the first time last weekend. Working through Sonic Colors Wii now.
