David Haytner... i mean hell at the end of MGS1 he says his name is david... all i heard when kiefer was talking was the "dude from 24", totally broke immersion, also since the did it for motion capture and to make their face be more emotive.... but then they had like fraction of the cutscenes that they usually have and Big Boss was basically a silent protagonist... (blame Konami?) .the second and third chapters. no drones on FOBs.
and o/t, since Liquid is trying to replicate Big Boss' dream, I would love to play the game as the antagonist... also the MSX games should be released
this game was absolutely great and i am well on my way to completing all side ops and playing the hell out of the FOBs as im guessing MGO will tie into my resources and such in MGSV somehow. but it could of been legendary, like MGS1/LoZ/Halo/FFVII type legendary. undeniably classic, as of now it is "only" a GOTY type game that people will not remember with as much nostalgia and just that MGS feel alot of us love so much like all the console entries.
best gameplay yet, but i think most hardcore MGS fans will put this below every MGS on console due to the horrible/rushed/unfinished story unless they hate Raiden... and I don't.
can't fing wait! been playing the entire series including the msx games to build up to MGSV in their chronological order in terms of timeline. so started with MSG3 > portable ops > peace walker >MGSV > msx 1&2 > MGS > MGS2 > MGS4...... im actually totally understanding the complicated and sometimes convoluted story and it is awesome. its funny how many times i've beaten these games and not understood the story very well, but i got it now for the most part. also the only games that i can replay on the regular.
METAL GEAR SERIES IS ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
i've also been playing these games because there no games have been released since Witcher 3.... or very much before it for that matter.
well I guess im done with ps+..... they're done with ps3 and i still don't see any reason to get a new-gen console with a rocking PC.... maybe one day, thought bloodborne would make me get a ps4, then i heard DS3 is being released on PC, so no go...
goty. this is what witcher was supposed to be the entire time i believe. witcher 3 is the full manifestation of the world with incredible detail and far far superior gameplay mechanics than the prior iterations. most photogenic game i have ever seen (as indicated by the 100s of screenshots i wound up taking on steam)
sidequests are just as fruitful and enjoyable as the main quests and generally worth doing even if you are overleveled as you get diagrams for stuff you may use later on.
other than some glitched quests, the game was incredible. quen was a bit op, but only because there are no enemies that are relentless in their attack like most are in, just for example a Souls game. cast quen, roll towards them, they swipe, roll to their back, attack, roll away as they swipe, roll in attack, rinse and repeat or get a small stagger and just wail on him till he breaks the quen then roll away and quen up again.
i hope in the dlc some of the bosses or more relentless in their attack, even on the 2nd hardest diff. setting quen really made things almost, but not quite a walk in the park. perhaps bosses that can use something like dispel to wipe out signs like quen and far more aggressive. i always liked how in souls games, when you try to heal enemies/bosses will charge you as your doing attempting to get the finishing blow before the animation/recharge is complete.
very nit picky complaints to what will be to most who play it a very likely the consensus goty.
(spoiler): i was dissapointed by most of the lvl 30+ quests/hunts though. i mean the 35 quest was a royal griffin, which was the first boss you kill in the game and the last if you go by their level. but alas, can't wait for the dlc as i killed all unique monsters in the game so far and would love to add to that.
@jdlok: it is challenging fluid and yes fun (judging off the 2nd game) and even more open world ish. the combat system is unique on it's own and has changed from title to title, but the second game's fighting system was solid though not as impressive as souls series that's been spot on since DeS.
all in all, i think the first 2 witcher games are great for their combat mechancs and story. this third one looks like a massive overhaul in all departments which is great. witcher 2 was a huge overhaul on the first and they look to meet people's incredibly high expectations in the third. i wouldn't be surprised if this is the GOTY right here.
@deth420@Chubnasty: yea i know.... man i really hate developers that sell games for 60$ then you put hundreds of hours into the game and they re-release it GOTY version with increased visuals and all dlc for a great deal. how dare they. what an outrage.
