[QUOTE="mlbslugger86"]better than gears of war? not a chancebiggamerhk

you're wrong

im wrong? this game looks like a male version of tomb raider...

a male version of tomb raider with highly detailed textures and sharp animations? doesn't sound too bad to me. and yeah, it looks better than Gears. Sorry.

Actually the Tomb Raider comparison is WAY off base. If anyone has done any reading out there you'd say that Uncharted resembles a Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt adventure. Namely Inca Gold, where Pitt is on the hunt for the lost Drake (that's right as in Sir Frances Drake) quipu that leads to a fortune in Inca artifacts, all the while battling mercenaries and smugglers. Give it a read, got some great action and it's well paced.

[QUOTE="Twisted_Hawk"]I do not see it turning around anytime soon. I remember reading an article about it, and all the flaws in the system are reappearing on the Playstation 3. Ouch!Javy03

And you say this without a link to the article or even examples of how the PS3=Sega Saturn and you also make this claim during a time period where the PS3 is outselling the Wii in Japan, the 360 in some countries in Europe (we dont get NPD from them to know if all) and its sales supposedly tripled in NA.

Nice...

Don't you know that opinions and facts are interchangable in the 21st century? If you merely state something it BECOMES fact. It deosn't matter if you have information to back it up. Stephen Colbert calls it "Truthiness". ;)

[QUOTE="DaysAirlines"][QUOTE="Indestructible2"][QUOTE="DaysAirlines"]Lots of 360s are failing so lemmings are buying it over and over again.DaysAirlines

Exactly.

I guess buying a 360 for the second time is better than buying a PS3 at all.

How do you figure? You've spent another $400 on the same product that has already crapped out on you once before. You're spending more money on the same product over and over again. It's absolutely foolish. And if this one breaks then what? You're going to buy another one? That's $1,200 you've spent on a product that STILL doesn't work. This is what I call the "Wal Mart Mentality". It doesn't matter if it's cheap, if it breaks down you buy another one? You're just throwing good money after bad. It actually costs you MORE in the long run.

There's a saying; Long after the sweet taste of a bargain has faded the bitter taste of poor quality will remain for years to come.

You make me hate what I do.

You work at Wal Mart?

It won't be exclusive till someone working on the game says. "This game will FOREVER be exclusive to the PS3."

The way they talk makes me think 360 will get it. If you want it next year he says. So in 2009 or 2010 360 gets it. Thats what it sounds like.

caseypayne69

And this is how the rumor perpetuates itself. No matter how many times someone says "it's a PS3 EXCLUSIVE" somebody reads what THEY WANT into a comment and then says "oh but it 'sounds like' they're saying something else".

Kojima can take out billboards in Times Square, buy blimps to fly over sporting events, and even make a proclamaition before the United Nations and someone will STILL say "oh but that little word there means it will be coming to the 360".

There's just no end in sight. People will believe what they want to believe .

Europe and Japan are a bit less capitalist and a bit more nationalist. They consider where something was made (or WHO made it) a little bit more than North Americans. Buying products from Microsoft outside of the US is a hard sell, because Microsoft = America to non-Americans, and the rest of the world resents (to a degree) that the US is the most successful & prosperous market. Furthermore, Europeans are willing to pay more for products and keep them for longer periods of time. Americans like to constantly update and/or upgrade what they have.

Yup as a 22 years old brit, I absolutely hate Micrsoft and everything the stand for, the monopolising bunch of a**holes. Luckily for MS the new generation of kids growing up don't remember the MS of the early-mid 90s: they're more likely to think Sony are the evil ones for the "lies", or even Nintendo for "casualizing" their new console. Frankly, it's absolutely laughable. Kids these days need to wake up.

I am an American and I completely agree with what your saying.

They don't follow the news and didn't remember remember Microsoft's predatory business practices that saw lawsuits, and rulings by the Federal Trade Commission against them for monopolistic business practices. I heard people say "Microsoft wants to compete in the industry and competition is good". Microsoft NEVER wants to "compete" in any industry. They want to DOMINATE. They want it to where you walk into Best Buy or Circuit City to buy a video game system your only choice is an XBox. And they'll move heaven and earth to get it that way.

I remember when Sen. Orrin Hatch asked a Senate chamber; "how many of you own a computer raise your hands?(entire chamber raises hands). Now how many of you own a computer with Microsoft Windows raise your hands? (entire chamber raises hands). Now how many of you own a computer with something else besides Microsoft Windows raise your hands? (nobody raises a hand) That ladies and gentlemen is the definition of a the word 'monopoly'."

In five or ten years I don't want Senator Hatch asking a senate chamber "Now how many of you have kids that play video games, raise your hands".

I do... Everything Sony has made that I have bought sucked and never worked. I had to buy 3 PS2's before I got sick of Disc Read Error. I have had my xbox since launch and never had a problem with it. I love how everyone loves to bring up RROD but not Disc Read Error. Microsoft is awsome and has given me more enjoyment and better products than sony ever has or ever will. The biggest issue is that Sony has turned its back on its fan base and thought that they did not need to worry about it. I believe history is doomed to repeat it self.. i.e. Sony is the Nintendo of Old

If you follow the news outside the gaming industry you'd know that Microsoft KNOWINGLY sold 360's with an admitted 33% failure rate. Now before you say "so what" let me say that if you sold tires that you KNEW had a 33% failure rate you'd be in prison right now. Microsoft also released Windows XP and KNEW it had a major security flaw that allowed hackers access to your computer. And anyone who's used a Windows computer knows how prone they are to crashes, system failures, random errors, and the "blue screen of death". You say Sony has turned it's back on it's customers but at the same time Microsoft shows UTTER CONTEMPT for it's own. And Sony has never been in front of a Senate chamber answering allegations of Sherman Anti Trust violations.

So before you say Microsoft makes quality products it might serve you well to do a little research.

Ok I've lived all over the world. Europe. Africa. Asia. And of course, North America (both US and Canada).

Its quite easy to understand why Microsoft owns the N.A. market. America is dominated by capitalism. That means people buy what they see is the most value to them. They don't care where it comes from so much as they are getting the features they want at a price they are willing to pay.

Japan is a little different because Asian culture is different enough to where tastes in products differ enough to become a factor in consumer products.

MrEpyx

That's partly true. However you also have to take into account people's ability to throw away money needlessly on certain things. As well as something called "keeping up with the Jones". I don't think anyone would call SUV's a "value". They're big, expensive, and suck up gas like there's no tomorrow. Yet up until about two years ago people were buying them in droves. But because the people down the street had one that means if I don't want my status to go down amongst my friends I NEED to get one too! How many times will you hear "I got a 360 because all my friends have one"? Quite a bit.

Nobody wants to feel like the odd man out.

Why do people continually try to justify their buying descisions by denouncing another product?
