What's kind of nice about games pass is that it can open doors for more niche titles like a Blue Dragon sequel. Die hard JRPG fans will probably buy it, while those randomly subscribed will try it for the sake of trying a new exclusive.
Does that mean I think such a game would be announced this year? Absolutely not. I am hopeful that the games pass can allow for new IPs and sequels to niche titles to happen though.
"In lieu of a single-player campaign, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature an assortment of solo missions that revolve around each of the game's Specialist characters. These will still contain the spectacular set-piece moments the series is known for, and they'll reveal each character's backstory and other details as players work their way through them."
Whether people will find these character specific missions acceptable in comparison to a traditional campaign is a matter of preference I guess.
@Eddie619: They had the balls to advertise it on the game pass, so I'd like to think its coming out this year. I thought for sure it was a summer 2018 game at the latest. However, with almost no news, maybe Horizon 4/Crackdown 3 is all they got for fall this year.
@Barighm: Exactly. It doesn't. There is a separate dedicated team that focuses on the emulation of OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games for BC. If it wasn't for BC, I wouldn't have been able to play through Fable 1-3 recently or buy The Darkness 2. Its a nice addition to the console.
As for getting new games, I think MS has heard the complaints. Unfortunately, game development takes a while.
The inclusion of MT isn't surprising, especially considering their current model of EA Access. To include AAA games in a relatively cheap annual subscription plan guarantees MT in every game they release. The obvious benefits for consumers are hopefully keeping communities alive, adding new content, and quicker discounts on AAA games for those that want to own a copy.
Unfortunately, the issue with this game was how the entire progression system was so heavily tied to MT. Hopefully whatever new progression system is added, doesn't allow for pay to win opportunities.
