Good news to me regarding DR 1 as I always though it had the best atmosphere in the series.

@kutulu1: Same here, although I completed it since I paid for it, but all the while I kept wondering to my self how did this crap game get so many GOTY awards? Now I know.

@randybumgardner: Agreed and little to no thinking required, but then again, that's probably why so many people find it fun. Personally, I sold it after beating the story as I found online mode too shallow with nothing noteworthy to do.

I believe a lot of the hate stems from from people being hung-up on the word "Resident" and how they feel it's not an RE game if it doesnt take place in some boogie-man infested haunted house.

It's called BIOHAZARD in Japan and it's Capcom's fault for thinking that word was too advanced for US/EU.
