Not massively fussed about Series X just yet. The reason why I'm posting is because the comment "George Foreman grill all over again" seems have triggered George Foreman Grill adverts at the bottom of this page on my browser 🤣🤣

Has this machine even been officially announced? All I've read are rumours and Digital Foundry have brought up the concept of the 'lockhart' machine a few times but nothing more.

A few months ago I was sceptical of such a lower end machine, but with the world economy heading the way it is, the idea doesn't seem so ill-conceived. Console gamers are fickle bunch when it comes to console's and price, perhaps now more than ever.

But such a machine could be a no-brainier for parents looking for the newest console without 'breaking the bank' so to speak.

Between the two I'd go for 1080P. But 1440P is the sweet spot that dedicated enthusiasts (who don't have unlimited budgets) should aim for.

Do Europeans/most rest of the world say, "Today is the 10th day of June 2020."?

Yes, Europe is dd/mm/yyyy. I'm British and if I were to tell you the date I would say it is Wednesday, 10th of June, 2020.

That's just the way we do it, nothing wrong with the way it's done there. I say tomato, you say to-mah-to.

I don't need to spend anything more at the moment. I'm pretty sure my i7 8700, 16GB RAM, 4TB SSD and RTX 2080 will still out perform a series X.

I'm not attacking the Series X though, compared to the start of the current gen, this one seems like a much more competent system. Interesting times for console gamers.

I'll be looking closely at the Digital Foundry verdict on these up-coming machines.

I like consoles, I really do, but PCs are my main thing now. I a take pleasure in putting my own custom build PC together, even if sometimes it doesn't go quite right first time. I'm like some of the guys on Digital Foundry who see the beauty in both consoles and PC's - and you can't accuse them of any major bias towards one platform or another. Okay, I was wrong, they don't really have much love the poor old Xbox One S.

But not being able to repair the system or even change a hard drive on a console is a real bugbear for me. The only console's I've appreciated for being able to at least replace/upgrade the built in hard drive has been the PS3 and the PS4.

Then going on the official Xbox forum to ask how to repair a broken controller, being told that repairs of controllers are not allowed to be discussed and getting the topic locked by an over zealous moderator! It was funny too because I wasn't even using that controller on an Xbox! I told them I was on PC Still got locked.

Cost does come into PC gaming, you can't deny it. About 10 years ago when work was on and off and money was tight I played mostly on the Xbox 360 and later got an Xbox One. Times have changed and now I don't have those money issues. I wanted the best so I built a gaming PC and I've put together about three since then.

My latest machine is an i7 8700, 16GB RAM an RTX 2080 graphics card, 2 SSD drives and an LG 27" G-SYNC monitor. It's probably cost me well over £1,700 just for the PC. The Monitor was another £450.

Cyber Punk 2077 gonna be the best on the XSX Beast

Better (slighly) than PS5 perhaps and huge amount of PC gamers who have systems based on lower end hardware, but not up against a high end PC.

Dude that is not remotely true. Updates after updates occur after you have installed it, actually take ages. Giving LTSC a go shortly, hopefully be a million times better.

Updates after updates? Not True.

Having to install a shit ton of updates after installing Windows 10 will only happen if you have an old version of the OS at hand. As long as you have the latest version of Windows 10 from the Media creation tool prior to installation there won't be any updates after an install.

I watched the Digital Foundry video on Mafia 2 yesterday. I'm so glad I made the jump to PC as my main gaming machine now, these versions can't even hit 30 fps, not even the One X.

I'm not going to go into the usual 30 fps unplayable rubbish that the PC elitist's go on about because 30 fps is playable, as long as it's done right (even if it is far from ideal). But this game can't keep to a locked 30 fps cap, dropping to low 20's is unacceptable.

I'm going to test out my free Steam Mafia 2 upgrade shortly on my RTX 2080 and see how it runs
