So, I'm probably going to build a new computer but, which one is better AMD or Intel? Should I go for an i5 or an i7?
This isn't my first build, been doing this since 2003. My current rig is an FX8350 system.
For a short time I'm going to use my old trusty GTX 970, then get either a 1080ti or a cheaper 1070. I'm not fussed about maxing everything out or doing 4K 60. I just want a system that I will mainly use for strategy games and a few single player FPS games.
The Amiga 500 was a dream computer I'd wanted for ages growing up - alas, I was stuck with a C64 in the 80's.
I had a Sega Mega Drive for a couple of years in the early 90's, then my brother's friend was selling an Amiga 500+ in 1994 with 30 odd games. It was a purchase well made. I only had it for a few years when I finally got a PC. But I have fond memories of that A500+
There are no mobile chips out there that can match even the low end AMD Jaguar APU hardware in the One S. Even if there was, could you imagine how hot they would be to hold or how quickly the battery would drain?
Does the OP understand the difference between the power hungry AMD/Intel based architecture of the Xbox One and PS4 and low power ARM architecture sitting inside an iPad? I think not.
