yes its pretty simple. tune your cars to be atleast 30 index points below your enemies.

for example. say its an S class race. bring an S class car, but tune it to be around the 650-670 range. Also there is an option that allows the AI opponent's cars to be upgraded aswell when you race. Hope this helps. peace
