The 8 player chat thingy, does that act as the old private chat but you can now have 8 players in one chat?

It says to chat to meet up, so is the 8 way chat available when others are all playing different games?

Current Family being the wife(s) that you may have married and the children you may have had and of course your faithful companion (dog).
