It's a decent game. I think the fact that it carries the Final Fantasy brand makes people give it a better score.

Without going into too much detail, the game has so much core design flaws

- Horrible side quest. People, myself included, make fun of Fallout 4 horrible side quests, but this game is just as bad, if not worse. You have to catch frogs, collect dog tags, and monster hunting with little to no back story. Did I mention some of the quest involve taking picture?

- Loading time. Again, people tend to laugh at Fallout 4 at this but this game is just as bad. It gets worse when you actually have to go back to your car just so you can fast travel to another place. That's 2x loading for one real destination

- Story/Narrative. Without going into detail too much since I want to keep it spoiler free, they don't even mention in detail or explain what happened in the city (with the king) during that cut scene. It;s like they expect you to watch the movie. The funny thing is, the movie explains more about the world than the game does. I learned more about the war in the movie than I have in the game at 40 hours and chapter 9. Shockingly, the game and the movie even contradict one another. *cough* the king was dealt a losing hand *cough*,,,LMAO Okay. That's not what was depicted in the movie. In addition, the overall story is a mess which is not good. Even comparing it to other FF titles that people tend to attack like FF12, it fails

- Combat. You can't really control your teammates. That's a step back in design and history of FF games. They limited the use of magic which in my opinion was smart. However, they completely decided to ignore the balance of items so items have become the new spells. You mostly use potions, antidote, PD, and elixir. There is no draw back like in previous games where you would lose a full turn or a huge amount of time if you use them. Also, you just hold one button to dodge 90% of the attacks. If you want to, you can probably win the entire game just holding one button and pressing O every once in a while

In retrospect, the game is not all bad. I still think it's a decent 7.5/10. I just think that they made too many horrible design decisions that drags the game down. I think like Dragon Age Inquisition, this game is celebrated by fans and some players as being really good but over time the flaws will be something that even those players will admit to. I remember the same type of post with DA:I. Now, more people are willing to admit that the game was horrible...definitely not game of the year.

As someone who has played CB games when I was a kid, I think this is completely untrue. It will sell decent but nothing crazy

I have not met one person who said they are ecstatic about it.

Great game. Gameplay and graphics are great

-slightly issue with balance

-unlocking and leveling

Final fantasy x has by far the best story.

Final fantasy 12 Is the best FF game overall. Difficulty, graphics (for it's time), story(pretty good), amazing loot, advanced battle system and pretty much everything else

I'm not much of a console gamer. In fact, I haven't been since PS2 days. I like the versatility of PC. With that said, my company is handing out big Christmas bonus numbering in 5 digits so i'm going all out trying the console thingy..

I bought me a Pro and a few games already. Recommend me some games which are decent (NO Darksouls please)

They would be a lot cheaper if consumers would stop demanding insane graphics and other stuff that require a strong console

@Macutchi: considering where they started and the competition they endured, it's awesome. I am really happy for a company to success when it treats its consumers so nicely.

@xantufrog: overrated as in, the game had a honey moon period when it was released and after some time, you can start to look and judge a game better

For example, many people have fallout 4 a high score but a few weeks later, the same people start admitting to others and themselves that the game is not so good. Over 10 months, the people who said, "wait till all the bugs get ironed out then you will see a 9/10 game", are now starting to dim down because the game is still trash.

Last year, some people claimed that the game was overrated, undeserving of all the awards, and a game that will be attacked as the years go.

It's been over a year since the game was released. The hype has gone down; the game released its final DLC and likely the last dose of patching.

Personally, I still consider this game the game of the year of 2015. I'd consider the DLC as game of the year for this year so far. I still consider it in my top 5 Rpg games ever.
