@lonesamurai1: A gamer and a big tech enthusiast then, no sin enjoying both. If i'd have that gaming budget of yours, hell, i'd build me some killer machine too hahah. The difference is, i would tune it down just a little and get the 1070 instead of a 1080, just so i could go and pick up a PS4 (probably just a used one since it would of course be my secondary gaming system then and wouldn't care that much for it), because, unlike you it seems, i could simply NEVER EVER skip a game/games that interest me because of framerate or resolution reasons :P

@Zloth2: I don't hate, i just wrote from my personal experience with such people, who would skip a game they'd apparently like to play for resolution and framerate reasons. I also added a pinch of sarcasm and bullsh*t to it.

@lonesamurai1: That's how it is unfortunately, but it's not that cruel truth to me personally, since i'm anyways always focusing on the price range that the gaming scene is most focused on (and not the high end PC market), which is currently the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and a mid-range PC price range (so around 400-600€). Was choosing between a PS4 and building a PC with a GTX 950 or 960 a few months ago and went with the PS4 in the end. What can i say, my love for Final Fantasy XV and Bloodborne outweighed my love for Company of Heroes 2, wasn't an easy decision though. One reason was also that i already have a PC (a more or less budget laptop) which can at least handle the basic PC exclusives like Hearthstone, which i also love and CoH 1 of course flawlessly... But not CoH 2 unfortunately *sigh*, nowhere near playable.. Sorry for the b*tchy whining, but i seem to be indeed blunt with the truth, hit myself again dammit.

I'm actually cool with this. Every 3 to maximum 4 years an improved console. You have the upgrade cycle of a PC, so hardware wouldn't fall behind that much and the simplicity, form factor, elegance, cheap used games and price of a console. Wouldn't that be the perfect gaming system? There wouldn't be thousands of combinations of hardware, just a few (which would make it a hell of a lot easier for developers to develop games on, also making games more optimized and better overall). If you could afford only the cheap one you'd go for example for the normal Xbox One (or PS4) and if you'd want a richer visual experience and a slightly better experience overall and had the budget for it, you'd go with the Scorpio (Or PS4 equivalent), but you'd still be able to play all the games no matter what you have.

@lonesamurai1: They'll always hold back PC's. Always. Or at least as long as consoles dictate the gaming market, which i don't see changing anytime soon. Even the new consoles will be held back by their own in this case (the normal PS4 and Xbox One). Also, by the time Scorpio comes out it will only be as powerful as a mid-range PC, but cheaper.

So again, high-end PC's will stay where they are. Playing console ports at a higher resolution and framerate, with mostly small improvements to graphical detail.

@misaelcarrillo: Yea, who cares about the gameplay, story, art design, audio and the whole overall presentation. It's only gonna be 1080p and 30 fps, why even bother with such games. I played games for 25 years on 60, 30, below 30 fps and far below 1080p, but only since 2015, when evolution kicked in and our eyes got far better, they hurt while playing anything below 1080p60 which makes the game automatically unplayable for me.

@Damazig: True i guess.. They would have to bump up the shadow and texture resolution too then, but i'm sure the draw and detail distances would remain about the same.

@chief_keef_goon: What? 4 still isn't that bad, compared to the thousands of possible PC configurations.
