For everyone wanting to know what to play; the only ones you need to play are MGS 3->Peace Walker-> Ground Zeroes. MGS 1, 2, and 4 are more about Solid Snake's story, and takes place after Phantom Pain. There will be probably be some winks and call backs to those games so some references or gags might go over your head. Besides that, they won't have any bearing on the plot, outside of being foreshadowed possibly.
Rarely do. Off the top of my head Splatoon is the only game I have bought at launch this year. Even then I've only gotten a handful of titles at full price. I generally like to wait for price drops and any issues with the game to be sorted out.
Its a tough question, and tbh it will take alot to be an early adopter this time around. The earliest we will have a chance to own it is next holiday (not this year, but the following), but it's more likely it will be two years before it's on shelves. If they're smart they should be prepping to be getting the leg up on next gen again, and actually do shit with that lead this time. If they get with the times and are smart about it, they could be the big thing. Push it as the first next gen experience, get and actually retain third party support. Killer launch, with killer apps within the foreseeable distance. Put some damn power in the machine.
Altair has more character in the AC II diary pages (or whatever they are) then he actually does in AC I. I enjoyed it warts in all, but I would wait for it to be on sale. You'll be fine without it in the grand scheme of things. Its nice, but not required.
