I'll definitely be watching on the 13th/14th. I caught one a couple of years ago with some random stranger at 3am and had a blast.

If you plan on watching there's some information about how to watch the Geminids (that's the name of the shower) here:http://bit.ly/eAjyTc and also on Wikipedia if you search for Geminids.

I run Windows Vista on one of my desktop computers, Windows XP on a laptop, I own a Macbook Pro (typing this post on it right now), and I have Linux (Ubuntu) installed on a system I found in the dumpster (runs pretty good). That being said, I'd say you can't go wrong with either a Mac or a PC running Windows. Contrary to popular belief, a Mac isn't just good for graphic design. It's great for everything else a PC running Windows can do. Someone posted that the Mac is severely lacking in applications. This is just not true. From my experience, Mac applications not only look better than applications running on Windows; but there's one for every task you want to accomplish.

Ubuntu is a very stable operating system. The best part is that it's completely free. You can't go wrong with this operating system unless you plan on gaming.

Windows Vista is not as bad as many people say it is. Sure, it had bugs up the ying yang in the beginning, but now it's a good operating system for the most part. Definitely the worst $400 I ever spent, but they're making it up with constant updates. Microsoft attempted to copy many of the features already available on the Mac with this release, but their effort wasn't too good. I use my PC for gaming, and to work on my site with Dreamweaver (although it's available on Macs). I love Media Center, and I believe that Apple made a half assed effort trying to copy Microsoft with their own version called 'Front Row'. Can't even record television with it.

Macs freeze. Macs crash. Macs have very convenient features that put it above and beyond Windows (in my opinion). There's also Bootcamp, which lets you install Windows on a Mac. I'm not sure why you'd do that though (unless you'd like to run a Windows only game). You can't go wrong with a Mac unless you plan on playing games with graphics set to the highest possible quality.

I have a feeling the most of the people who choose Windows haven't had much time with a Mac or simply have a few misconceptions about them. Same can be said about users who selected 'Mac'. I guess it all comes down to preference in the end. So... I chooseMacs (although Macs themselves are personal computers).

Edit: Almost forgot. I own a Zune and an iPod. I use my Zune more often. I dislike that it isn't compatible with my Mac, but that's that I expected anyway. That's my only gripe with Macs at the moment. I use Zune headphones on my iPod. I mentioned this to show how biased (or unbiased?) I probably am.

I can't stay away from Halo 3 custom games. Mass Effect is probably one of the best, most addictive games of the year.

I hear ya man! Something about Halo 3 keeps me going back. I'm almost 1000/1000 in Oblivion achievements (really the first RPG I've ever really gotten into); thinking about getting Mass Effect. Glad you're enjoying it. Hopefully I'll be on the same boat soon. :]

I've finished Mass Effect twice; working on my third play on Hardcore.-Tretiak

Wow, how long did it take you to beat the second time around?

Yeah, I've been hearing that a lot lately. I really want to give it a try some day. :] Does COD4 have a ranking system that raises with experience like H3?

Yes. And they have achievements too.

Hm, thanks! that's all I needed to know (the rank part), I just one-click-purchased it on Amazon.

I've been stuck at rank 30 in Halo for a few weeks; COD4 will be refreshing. :]

I've been playing Halo 3 for the past two months. Considering buying Rock Band for the 360. What about you?
