Infinite is great at atmosphere and artstyle, but under all that flair it's just another average, linear shooter. They should have just made a movie. Wasted my money on it.

Womb Raider was good, it's just way too easy and 'modernized'. They also completely dropped the ball with the pseudo-survival mechanics instead of having ACTUAL essential needs. Real survival mechanics would have worked so well. Should have had a hardcore mode where you need food and water.

And I haven't played Crysis 3. I absolutely hated 2, so I had no interest. Honestly the whole Crysis series is severely overrated, it's just graphics and not much else. The first one was the strongest and it was just average at best. I think if it weren't for the visuals, people wouldn't even pay it any mind.

There's no way a game like Thief 1 or 2 would work in today's market. It's sad, but that's the way it is. One way or another it will have to be 'modernized', because today's majority of 'gamers' don't have the patience for a pure stealth game, and probably don't even know what a stealth game is or how to play it.

Niche games don't exist anymore because of this whole 'lol gotta please everyone' mentality. So of course they're gonna add combat sh!t and all that like it's Assassin's creed or something. I mean the quote alone from the devs which was something like "We don't want to force you to be a thief" says it all. You'd think, if someone doesn't want to play as a thief, then why the fvck are they buying a game called 'Thief' in the first place? And that right there is why game devs pander to everyone, because if not, the people who 'don't want to play as a thief' wouldn't buy their game; it's all about money.

That said, I will still play and probably enjoy this game. Stealth is my favorite genre, a genre that's pretty much dead. So I'll take a semi-stealth game over nothing.

Bioshock 2 soured me too much.charizard1605
What was so bad about 2? The gameplay was much better than 1. Of course the story wasn't good, but that should have been obvious since it wasn't Irrational Games that was making it. Everything else was fine. Gameplay matters much more than story anyways.

F.E.A.R. 2. Took my favorite game of all time and turned it into complete sh*t. I can't believe it was made by the same developers. What the hell happened...

That's great and all, but it means nothing if playing merciful is boring as hell. Dishonored suffered immensely from this: Sure, you could go through the game without killing a soul, but you had to choke them. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Forget using any of the fancy gadgets we gave you, or that badass knife.Plagueless
That's just you.

I'm the exact opposite. Dishonored is boring as hell if you go around killing everyone. It's much more fun to ghost through the game without killing anyone. My pacifist playthrough was the most fun and satisfying. I've never even killed anyone other than the main targets on any of my playthroughs. I tried doing a high chaos playthrough, and I got bored on the first level. Not everyone like guns blazing.

And the remark on having to "choke every single one". You obviously must not play stealth games, I maybe had to choke about 3 or 4 guys in the whole game.

I find it every hard to beileave that anybody would not get bored with sneaking to the end game.

News flash: that's exactly what the whole stealth genre is about.

Um, I had no problems with that part on Hard. Just use melee combat when they get close and shoot whoever gets on the siren. It was pretty easy and I never died.
