@jack_is_cool @Assassin_87 @PlasticVent Naoto's character is only acting as a boy because her chosen profession, in her mind, is for males. That's not a struggle with gender. Kanji has the common teenage issue of questioning sexuality. That he ends up straight is fine unless you're being insanely sensitive and looking at it from a specific perspective or while pushing a certain agenda.
@PlasticVent @jack_is_cool As if this article contains anything worthy of debate as opposed to poorly formed opinions and the lashing out of a manchild who sees things in a game's narrative that almost certainly aren't there. This is a case of someone stretching a narrative to try and fit their own life experiences and critiquing it for not fitting that purpose as opposed to appreciating it for what it is.

Video games are not art. They are mass-produced media, meant to entertain a wide audience, and they involve a heavy amount of user interaction. Video games are games, no matter how pretty they become or how complex the stories being told are. Thus, this article is entirely irrelevant, because it is based on a false premise. Edit: I should add that this isn't true 100% of the time, but those games which I could be persuaded to call art (Dear Esther, To The Moon, etc.) aren't necessarily "good" in the traditional sense of being a game.
