It's avalible for only $10, but will I still be able to get games in Ultimate team or seasons?

Basically, is it still active online?

It's 75% off on GMG, only $10, but however I just wanted to know if it's worth getting. Is online still being played? Are there lots of people playing regular games, ultimate team, etc?

The problem to me is, if a game is really that incredible, it should be able to transcend time barriers. I finished Planescape Torment for the first time two years ago, and it was still mind blowing. Half Life 2, not so much.

[QUOTE="face_ripper"]It was the best game at that time.. (2005 I think) As games evolve, the demand for content is higher. You won't be playing Fallout 1 or 2 after playing Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Unless the older games are better, like Fallout 1 and 2 are better than 3.

Am I the only one who seems interested in the Van Helsing game? It looks solid for the price.

Geneforge, Avernum, and Avadon are solid, solid RPGs being made by only one guy. O.o http://spiderwebsoftware.com/

I don't understand the outcry. What's the big f*cking deal about day-one add-ons? If you don't want them, don't buy 'em. Acting like they're some affront to our rights is just ridiculous.

The problem is, certain developers will take out content that may be important to the actual game simple to sell it as DLC to collect more cash. It's not necessarily the idea of Day 1 DLC, as it is the application of the idea.

Those games you talk limits important parts of you character,

I can argue that JRPG can be more of RPG than WRPG.

Go ahead, I'd love to hear it.

The most important thing in a RPG at lest to me is player control character growth. Player control character growth can be broken up into player control character stats growth, player character control abilities growth, and player control gear growth. All three affect you character role in the game.

In JRPG, the enemies are normally rich. They can force you to use your character to the fullest of their roles. Sometimes you do not have the character made to make a fight easy so you just need to adapt to it.

A large problem I been having with WRPG lately is that they been removing the role playing from the game and replace it a choose-your-own-adventure story and by letting you pretend to be the character.

Well, isn't a huge part of player control and player growth include doing something in your game environment, such as completing a certain task, kill/save a certain person, and have them adapt toward you? Shaping your character not only in combat but in the game world?

Skyrim

Fallout 1&2

Geneforge

KOTOR 2

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines

Baldur's Gate 2

All of these games allow you to be whatever character you want. It seems to me like you guys are focusing on JRPGs, which are much more similar to adventure games than actual RPGs.
