Even after AC3's mediocrity I'm willing to give the series another shot. I'm getting it on Wii U since I wont be getting a PS4 until midway next year.

I think it's fair to give it another shot because even if it isn't the best Assassin's Creed game, it'll be the best pirate game.

I had no idea where else to ask this question, so I decided to put it here. Here's my situation, I pre-ordered a PS4 and am getting it on launch date, however, Black Flag will be coming out on Wii U before the PS4 version.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should get the game on Wii U so I can play it sooner, or wait for the PS4 version for the updated graphics and exclusive content?

The benefit of getting the PS4 version would also mean having more games to play at launch so I don't get bored as quickly, however, Black Flag is one of my most anticipated, so it's becoming an increasingly difficult position and I fear that if I play one version of the game, there's no point in playing another version, especially if there's no incentive.

What do you guys think?

Dude who cares? Madden is a franchise that's running itself to the ground, I'm actually happy that it isn't coming to the Wii U. EA is a terrible company anyways and I'm glad Nintendo is essentially telling them to piss off.

Seeing it from Nintendo's perspective, Wii 2 (as boring as it sounds) would have been the correct branding decision.

What would you rename it?

I'd change it to the Nintendo RevolUtion. Since it'd be an homage to the Wii's original name at the time and it'd seperate itself from the Wii.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded by Nintendo's choices with the Wii U. I've been a fan of Nintendo for years, but this... this is just idiotic.

How about instead of sending a message that next to nobody is going to see, how about you spend all the money you saved by not doing a conference into advertising the Wii U and what it actually does, no I'm not talking about a 15 second clip of a kid playing with a gamepad because that's not going to work, we need to be told what the console is, what the console can do, I don't care if you have to do it in the style of a car commercial, you need to try harder.

There's no such thing as a manticore.

The next Xbox will need decent exclusives to compete, and more importantly, calm down with its Kinect shovelware. If the 360 is of any indication, I doubt it.

Cyberdot

YES. The Kinect is not doing anything for the console except hindering it's potential. If you look back on the Xbox conferences at E3, all that would drool out of their mouth was the Kinect and it became annoying rather quickly. Microsoft needs to understand that the Kinect is not their messiah, they need to do what Sony is doing and focus on the core gamer, enough with the gimmicks.

My apologies, I wanted to take the top post in response to what I feel is a quite intelligent question.  Something all to rare in SW.

Shewgenja
Oh! That makes perfect sense, alright, you never know what you're diving into in SW, so I thought that what you said was some sort of term out of the survival guide. My mistake :)

The operative question for most gamers is, what can MS do to up the ante from the PS4?  Sony has made so many gains toward gaining developer support and building a mature platform going into the next-gen, that the onus is really on MS to "Wow" us.  There's no EDram to complicate things in the PS4, either.  It's a straightforward design that lends a few tricks from the PS3 days of direct memory access control for more advanced devs who wish to squeeze the thing.

There's also plenty of memory available and processing cores for a pretty rich parallel environment.  So, Sony can commit pound for pound and feature for feature whatever any game company throws at them down the road.  They have a vast wealth of developer resources to build games for the machine and the best part is that you're not going to have to wait a year for that to all start happening.

So, what can the XBox 720 do to win the gamers over?  What trick can MS have up their sleeve that makes people say "Wow, games on that are really going to be something different."  The answer is nothing weve seen yet.  That's actually part of the problem.

Shewgenja
Brilliant and concise reasoning, I appreciate this over your prior post. I agree with you on all points, I don't know if there's any more room for "innovation" considering that everything that is currently possible has already been done.
