[QUOTE="Acurev"]

[QUOTE="techargon"]why would you get either sony just annoiced that the 40 gig is done with and the new 80 gigs are going to be 399.99, why not get a new 80 gig ps3 for the same price as that used one??????techargon

the new 80GB model have no PS2 emulation what so ever, no software nor hardware.

40 gig has no BC either, so why would you even look into buying that one if BC is that important to you? to be honest since i bought my ps3 (launch 60 gig) i have only finished playing one ps2 game and that was FF12 because i was half way through the game when the ps3 came out. i haven't touched my ps2 or any other of my ps2 games since.

If i were you i would buy a new 80 gig (without BC) and hold on to your old PS2 in case you ever want to play a PS2 game

Hmm, I know it doesnt make sense to ask since I know what I want, BUT what I am asking is basically, Is it safe?, has anyone ever heard of issues with buying a used PS3. Honostly Id get a PS3 w/ BC "just in case" I dont have plans on using it but what if.

Sorry, I should have been more clear before, has anyone ever heard of any issues with buying used PS3's? Thanks again!

edit* A quick Google search reveals....Absolutely NO issues what so ever, I just want to hear from people here if they think its a good idea.

My situation:

A local used DVD/Video Game store has an 80GB PS3 for $399 used. At the same time, Best Buy has the 40GB model brand new for $399. I understand the differences between the two are hard drive space and the 80gb has software emulation for PS2. Personally Im leaning towards gettting the 80GB just for the bigger HDD and just in case I want to play any PS2 games later.

Im asking here because I just sold my Xbox 360 and all my 360 games. When I bought the 360 I got it new because I had heard of people getting banned on Live! and theyre consoles were banned as well. I didnt want to stuck with a banned console and the threat of RROD. I was afraid of not having a warrenty.

Is there anything to worry about when getting a used PS3? Hardware issues? Banned Consoles? No warrenty?

Thanks in advance and I'm really excited to switch from 360 to PS3!

They created Goldeneye (N64) for XBLA. It was a straight port from what I've heard, though I've seen screens that looked much better. They were about to release it but they couldnt come to terms on in agreement with Nintendo (i think it was nintendo).

Not saying that would happen with Half-Life but to the people saying the graphics arent good enough to be an XBLA release. I'd have to disagree. Despite the fact I grew up with HL on PC using keyboard and mouse, pc gaming has severly gone down the tubes and now I'm only console gaming so I'd absolutely LOVE HL on XBox 360!

hm, i actually had no idea you could do this. I just tried it with my ipod and it worked fine. I plugged it into the front of the console. I have one of the new 360's with the HDMI port BTW. I just plugged it in and went to media and then music and it came right up. Also I have a 30gb video ipod, I think its a 3rd generation.

I found this on Xbox.com though...

I comes up. And The only difference between my 360 and the elite is the elite is black and its got a 120gb hdd. Ive already got HDMI becuase I have a newer 360. If you dont have HDMI and thats important to you then upgrade it. If youve already got a newer 360 with HDMI and your only upgrading for the bigger HDD and the color...dont do it. It would be cheaper to just get the larger HDD.
